  1. Megan Thee Stallion performed at the BET Awards tonight, and it was one for the books. Because of COVID, artists are dreaming up innovative ways to virtually perform. Megan cooked up something brilliant for her new song "Girls in the Hood" and mega hit, "Savage." Megan also won Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at the awards show. Check it out below. How'd she do, Exhale? Related:
  2. Megan Thee Stallion dropped a new banger titled "Girls in the Hood." Megan flexes her allure over production sampled from Eazy-E and N.W.A’s classic 1987 single, “Boyz-n-the-Hood.” It's hot. Listen below. Thoughts?!
  3. They did it! Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce's "Savage" Remix tops the Hot 100 this week. Beyonce joins Mariah Carey as the only other artist to have #1s in the '00s, '10s & '20s. Some stats from Billboard:
  4. So recently..Say So remix went to #1 and Nicki minaj got her first #1 But if you ask me her previous songs deserved number 1 rather than say so remix Say so remix actually sounded like it was fan made..While Savage Remix had that potential to be #1 What do you guys think?
  5. Congratulations are in order to to Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj! Their "Say So" remix hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the first time either Doja or Nicki have claimed a #1. That's right, this is Nicki Minaj's first-ever #1. Nicki shattered the record for the longest wait for a first Hot 100 No. 1, by total career entries, as "Say So" is her 109th charted title on the tally (which is also a record amount of entries). Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce's "Savage" remix took #2. Some stats from Billboard: Let's celebrate to women ruling the Hot 100 this week!
  6. Beyonce jumped on a remix of Megan Thee Stallion's massive hit, "Savage." It's completely re-worked. I already know the comments are going to say Beyonce is trying to cling to relevancy, but there's no denying her star power. Megan is also a streaming juggernaut, so this is smart for both women. Looking forward to seeing Bey back on top! Are you here for this remix?
  7. Megan Thee Stallion is one of rap's biggest artists right now, yet she's stuck in a contract that blocks her from freely releasing music as she sees fit. This happens pretty often, and it's disheartening because it's all about money and label politics. You may recall artists like Jojo, Tinashe and Iggy Azalea being trapped in similar scenarios. Here's a video of MTS talking about it. She says she didn't fully read her initial contract she signed and welp... Do you think this is unjust or is it the nature of the beast? Personally, I think this is f--ked. UPDATE: Megan sued her label. A judge grande a temporary restraining order allowing her to release new music. Pitchfork has details on the contract she signed that prohibit her growth as an artist. Basically, the label is money-hungry vampires.
