  1. Kylie Minogue is hard at work on her 15th(!!!) studio album, officially titled Kylie. It's “grown-up disco. [It's] difficult even for me to explain,” she tells GQ. “But even grown-ups need some pure pop fun.” Kylie recorded around 10 songs penned by songwriter Maegan Cottone. Cottone has co-created some pretty epic pop songs, including "Pretty Girls" by Britney Spears (FIGHT ME ), "Up" by Demi Lovato and Olly Murs and a bunch of Little Mix tracks. Cottone says in a new podcast she and Kylie had a bunch of tracks done before the pandemic hit. Now that Kylie, like the rest of us, is quarantining she's working in her own home-studio and getting guidance from Cottone through Zoom sessions. Cottone isn't sure how many of her songs will make the final cut, but believes at least a few will. Kylie is also working with Madonna producer, Mirwais. Rumor has it the lead single is titled "Don't Ever Forget Me." I'm super excited for this album! Hopefully Kylie can get that Dua collabo recorded Are YOU ready for Kylie? Sound off! Related:
  2. Have you guys ever heard of Kylie Minogue? Just discovered her two weeks ago. She not really well-known but she has some bops. Can’t Get You Out of My Head Dancing Sexercise Go check her out! EDIT: THIS WAS A JOKE!!! MY APOLOGY:
  3. Upon seeing some love for the Australian Princess of Pop on here lately, I have decided to commemorate the 1 year anniversary of her fourth major greatest hits album, Step Back In Time: The Definitive Collection with this thread. On the 28th of June 2019, Kylie released this collection of bops, including one new song, New York City, originally recorded for during the “Golden” recording sessions and it. is. a. bop Obviously including all of her hits past and present, the album debuted at number 1 in Australia and the UK, staying in the top 5 of the latter for 3 weeks. This marks her 6th and 7th number 1 album in Australia and the UK respectively. Greatest Hits albums may be on the way out, but when you’ve got a career spanning 4 decades, it’s a great way for a new audience to discover you. And Kylie has bops for days. What do you guys think of Kylie? Have you heard her definitive collection? What are your favourite Kylie songs? I love In Your Eyes, Please Stay, 2 Hearts, Slow, In My Arms, Love Affair, Come Into My World, ugh too many to list tbh. Please discuss.
  4. Hi, everyone! My friend and I are thinking of starting a music blog, and I want to make sure something like this doesn't already exist first, so please let me know if it does in any form! I'm obviously a huge pop fan, and he's into more niche artists, so we want to take turns reviewing music the other person likes (and offer both of our perspectives on new releases). Examples of things I would have him react to include Britney's unreleased tracks/B-sides (Mona Lisa, the Rebellion snippet, etc.), the Spice Girls' solo music, and Kylie Minogue's music in general (we're in America, and she's not as well-known here). What are your thoughts? Does this sound like a blog you'd wanna follow? Any particular artists/bodies of work you'd like reviewed? Would anyone be interested in occasionally contributing to it? Lmk!
  5. 20 years ago Today, Parlophone records released Spinning Around by Kylie minogue. It took a couple of years to get to Kylie. The track was written by Paula Abdul, Kara Dioguardi, For Paula's unreleased 4th studio album. Paula signed a new recording deal with Mercury records in 1997 after Virgin dropped her, her 1995 Album head over heels wasn't the hit Virgin hoped it would be. However, Thx to American Idol, the album is in the cult status. Among the top 100 most underrated albums of all time. Sadly when the merger of Island def jam happened, several artists were dropped without releasing music. Paula was one of them. Parlophone signed Kylie in 1999, thx to a surprising duet with The Pet shop boys titled in denial. It was her biggest contract to date. A six album deal that was worth £98 Million. First order of business, Bring back pop Kylie.. The first single to launch this new and improved Kylie was Spinning around, the video has an infamous close up shot of her derriere in her trademark hot gold pants which according to William Baker cost only 50p to get it. Kara credits the video and Kylie's sexiness for making this song the hit it was, Her first UK #1 hit since 1990's Tears on my pillow. The song is a staple on her live shows, has been performed on every tour since 2001's on a night like this tour, with the exception of 2012's Anti tour, which was a setlist of b sides and rare tracks to celebrate her 25th anniversary in the music industry. Happy 20 years of the birth Of Camp kylie This is In denial, which led to Parlophone signing Kylie to their roster..
  6. 18 years ago a massive chart battle happened in the UK. In one corner The Princess of Pop (UK and Australia media gave her that title, Britney has every other market respectively) Kylie In the other corner The King of Rock and Roll himself Elvis Presley with a single to accommodate his 25th anniversary since his death. A remix by Junkie XL titled A little less conversation. Sadly Kylie lost to elvis. Peaking at #2. She came this close to having her 7th #1 single in the UK. But it's her 11th #2 single in the UK. Stream the remixes to Kylie's Grammy nominated best dance recording.
  7. This song deserves justice! The song starts pretty good but when the chorus hits This really should've been more than it was.
  8. The prayers have been answered, posting on Instagram. With a custom made Disco ball microphone, She's hinting. Get ready. Your disco needs you, even if it's a homemade self isolation disco If the single arrives later this month, this would go with the appropriate time for her Usual late October or early November release. Who's ready to put on their dancing shoes??? Our disco queen needs us and so does the dance floor she commands. Stream The goddess of pop's most recent Greatest hits and overall her 7th #1 album in the UK, and her sixth #1 album in her native Australia.
  9. If you play #Chromatica II then put Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" after it sounds so fierce. #Chromatica
  10. I take it back. Britney was nominated for Brits. But lost all of her nomination. This was her only nomination. She lost To Madonna. Madonna beat the likes of her musical daughters P!NK, Kylie and of Course Britney spears to win the award. She would win again in 2006. Beating Mariah Carey who just Like Britney lost her only Brit nomination to Madonna. But on a serious note. Y'all thank God Guy is gone. I didn't understand just how submissive he made her. That must have been a good lay in bed for the woman who wouldn't submit to no man ever. To allow this. And in 2006 Madonna beat Mariah Carey who was never nominated for a brit before or after this award..
  11. In 1999 Many British music critics and industry leaders written off Kylie minogue. Her 1997 Magnum Opus Impossible Princess made her at one point the most hated woman in the UK. She was panned by Critics for chasing the sounds Of Blur and others indie rock. You know stuff that pop stars aren't supposed to do. However Melanie C never was treated that way when Northern star came out and her radical image overhaul. She looked like a tomboy bottom version of The witness era by Katy Perry. But ironically while she failed to woo her native Australia with her chessy dance pop. Impossible princess was the first album that Australia enbraced from Kylie minogue. RESPONSE was so positive. Kylie literally did an exclusive tour of Australia. (It lost the exclusive title once word got out about a tour for the album forcing her to do a more limited engagement version in London) But if it wasnt for the success in impossible princess. I don't even think everybody knows that Mushroom was going to drop her. In 99 she collaborated with the pet shop boys on a track called In denial. The track is about a daughter who knows her father is gay. But he is denying it. And it's hurting them both.. This led to her signing to Parlophone in the UK. Who told her they don't have anyone like her on the roster. "Nor does anyone else" Their mission was to bring kylie the pop star in an updated form. The comeback trilogy of what is called Parlophone phase one. Really was inspired by retro genres and imagery. Light years was heavy on 70s disco references and Imagery. It also includes the gay staple Your disco needs you..ironically all the gayest song's on light years Love Boat, Koocachoo, Your disco needs you and of course a rock anthem for the gays. Kids were all written for kylie by the gayest straight man ever Robbie Williams of take that fame In 2001 Disco was traded in for futuristic imagery with a touch of 1980s club music. Again Fever housed iconic gay anthems Including what should have been issued as club singles "Give it to me" and "Burning up" The trilogy however came to a perfect conclusion with the underrated "Body language " 80s was the theme. But more like 80s R&B genres like freestyle and electro hip hop vibes. With influences from Prince and lisa lisa and the cult jam. Kylie was able to what All music guide basically described . Made a retro trilogy that was also modern. Abd it basically sealed her fate that she wasn't going anywhere but officially confirmed she's here to stay. Fan favorite Secret (take you home) incoprated elements of this Freestyle classic making the 80s R&B and club sounds from the 80s freestyle genre evident. Dannii did this to on 1991's Love and Kisses. But that was when the genre was still popular. Not forgotten when Body language dropped. So stream the underrated classic that brought the trilogy of retro music influence to a perfect close.
  12. Yes I love Kylie Ann Minogue She is the ultimate Showgirl (Dubbed Aphrodite for the Aphrodite tour which is fitting) Kylie's 2006 Homecoming tour was rge best tour that didn't come to the states. Filmed in Melbourne at the Rod Laver arena. Kylie staged the ultimate homecoming ever. You see she was supposed to bring the tour in 05. But Breast Cancer got in the way. All of this is also detailed in the best music documentary White Diamond. A personal portrait of Kylie minogue. She brought back Charlene from Neighbours. She's one of the few artists that always submits homoeroticism throughout her show.. This is why kylie is viewed as the ultimate gay icon in the UK and Australia. It's like her shows are made for the gays by a woman who knows she really has no straight male fans. She dediates the show to her fabulous gay husband William Baker. It still bothers me How the US keeps sleeping on an artist whose mic is always on and never gets overdubbed in the final product @JordanMiller @Roxxy @babyimmafreak90
  13. KYLIE MINOGUE is one of the few rare popstars that admits. It's because of the hits. It's what brought her here. Artists like Madonna and a few others hate the idea of Nostalgia and basically doing a hits tour. Cos that means she's a variety act. That's how the media describes acts who celebrate the past more than the present.
  14. In 2011 Kylie (the only one that matters) Minogue, went on tour with one of the most spectacular and well received shows of the last decade. It had a high-scale production, beautiful costumes, magnificent props, live vocals, great stage presence and still she remains one of the most humble, genuine, unproblematic and underrated pop divas in the scene. At 43 years old she was capable of putting on a great show, with a strong concept (Greek and Roman mythology), thirty water jets, a tilted platform, Dolce & Gabbana outfits, dancers and aerial performers. I hope I'm not giving you new information and just refreshing memories, but if this wasn't the case, I'll link down some pics, highlight performances and the full show, so you can enjoy. Also, stream Kylie's Aphrodite album for good luck and clear skin, xoxo
  15. Last Thursday, Kylie celebrated her 52nd birthday. Attitude, a big LGBT magazine posted an article appropriately title "The enduring gay appeal of Kylie Minogue." They talk about her soap opera beginnings and basically claim the gays only claim two things from the show, Neighbours. One of them is Kylie Ann Minogue.. She sarcastically tells whoever signs her to recording contracts that marketing her to straight music listeners needs to stop. She's ours. Please keep all marketing and promoting to us. They don't know how to appreciate camp like the gays. ° Most gay icons come from tragic upbringings. Madonna losing her mother at 5. That's like losing your spiritual guide as a gay guy.. They mention Kylie defeating breast cancer in 2005 was her way to off that adversity rule off the check list. She's not known for being shady but when she does throw. It's a bathbomb full of gliiter. Just ask Kylie Jenner how she felt when Kylie in legal documents described her as a "second rate TV personality, who mocks disabilities and uses scandals as financial gain". Ouch. That really did hurt. It hurts more knowing Wendy Williams was actually on team Minogue. And so was the US trade offices. They basically said Jenner can't trademark the Kylie brand due to Minogue successfully buying the domain rights to Kylie.com a year prior to Jenner being born.. We love America when they get it right. They did. No more Golden or Impossible Princess. We get it. We love experimental pop stars. But Kylie is no Madonna. We just like our bubblegum disco goddess.. It's ok to stick to what works. For Kylie disco music and hot sweaty gay men go hand in hand like our beloved disco needs you.. Happy birthday, Kylie. We still can't get you out of our heads.
  16. Chromatica is being accused of several club samples stealing. A problem gaga has seriously faced everytime she did dance music.. But now we can add Kylie's Juggernaut "Can't get you out of my head" to the rip off accusations. I won't lie. Even though the tempo is slowed down. It does sound similar to the intro. I knew gaga going back to dance music. All the accusations that she faced early on that almost made her want to retire in 2014. Was going to come back. And boy did it. @JordanMiller @Roxxy
  17. Dua Lipa says in a new interview she'd love to collaborate with Queen Kylie Minogue and is also a huge fan. Dua's sound and vibe she's got going on for Future Nostalgia would fit so perfectly with Kylie's forthcoming era (supposedly pop disco-tinged). I need a collaboration to manifest. Anyone else here for this? Related:
  18. Kylie Minogue recorded a Paula Abdul track titled "I'm Just Here For the Music." While it definitely fits the Body Language urban pop vibe, Paula's disco take delivered what Kylie's failed to do. A dance track about dancing.
  19. A former Employee of Jive Records has come out and alleged that the label Sabotaged The Body Language era By Kylie minogue. It's no secret Clear Channel blacklisted Britney spears due to a tour sponsorship on her last tour. In 2002 Kylie minogue came back into the US Mainstream with fever and had two huge radio Hits with Can't get you out of my head and Love at First Sight.. Fast forward to 04. Slow was actually picking up on several radio formats even urban ones. Jive caught wind. According to this employee. They threatened to pull all there acts from radio stations if they were going to support kylie minogue. As a result. Slow managed to only peak at #90. And is Kylie's last hot 100 entry. This does make sense. As several TV shows booked kylie for promotion but switched it to Britney spears.
  20. Kylie Brazil reports that Kylie minogue is in the studio with French techno producer and a frequent collaborator of Madonna, Mirwais (2000's Music, 2003's American Life and 2019's Madame X being their heavily collaborated projects). He started as the main producer of Confessions on a Dance Floor. Most of the leaked songs proved where the direction started. Besides the two bonus tracks, one for the limited edition box set and the other as an mp3 exclusive to her official fan club, Madonna basically abandoned that direction as Mirwais was trying to make it political and Madonna herself said that her documentary was her political statements while the music needed to be separate from it. If you listen to both American life and Madame X, these two are her most politically driven albums to date. Which has caused a divide among her fans. Some fans just want the music as an escape kind of like she did in the 80s. That's what scares me. Kylie, just like Britney Spears, has always been an escape from life kinda pop star. Which is why many fans never left her. She never got preachy or criticized anybody's beliefs or ideology in religion and politics the way Madonna has. Kylie never relied on shock value. Though Impossible Princess is very controversial among the Kylie fandoms. It's really the only album her fans are divided on. Most love Golden. For IP... It's the exact opposite, but gets shady praise as Light Years is viewed by fans as a return to form type album for Kylie fans (especially the UK fan base). Kylie working with Mirwais really scares me. I hope the political stuff isn't the case, but With Mirwais attached anything can happen. @JordanMiller @Roxxy @babyimmafreak90
  21. One of the things that apple music offers that spotify doesnt. Music videos to add to your fave acts catalog to watch. Basically killing YouTube. Watching the documentary just add water which is the making of Her 2011 Aphrodite les follies tour.. Kylie and William Baker made a stage that also featured a huge water element. It hasn't been done on a major concert tour like this. And it definitely hasn't happened since then. The tour had 20 trucks dedicated to the water element a long with the other ten trucks that carried the rest of the stage. Researching proves why it won't happen again. A normal performance of this tour (strictly for Europe and Australia) was heavily expensive. One night costs 58 million to put that show on. Kylie never made that back. Normally average was 1,000,000 to 1.5 million. Asia, Africa, Latin and North America had a smaller production. Many believe had she been able to perform the arena version worldwide she would have made the return even and a little over. But because she can only do arenas in Europe and Australia well now the UK. It's too risky that nobody will actually do it cos it could backfire with the gross return from tickets. Which business analysts expects concerts, sporting events and nightclubs won't happen til a vaccine is created to aid against coronavirus..
  22. I didn't think there were a lot of Kylie Minogue fans (Lovers) on Exhale so I didn't realize this topic would get that much traction. But the Australian pop princess is confirmed to be working on her 15th album. By a hashtag made by one of the producers it is seeming she is returning to disco pop. Kylie says she's working on the new tunes whilst in quarantine. "I certainly didn't see that country element coming, but I loved every second of it," Kylie previously said of singing country on her last album. "I got to spend two weeks in Nashville. I barely did sightseeing, shopping, anything. I ate, slept, wrote. It was all about music. Some of the lessons I learned there, whether by being actively engaged and trying to learn more about songwriting. Or just by osmosis... there's something about Nashville that seeps into you." Kylie continued: "I've already started work in the studio. There's that... we're not quite sure what it is yet, but we feel like 'that's good, that's good, this is the direction we're heading'. It's probably too early to say what it is, but I'm very excited. I won't be doing [country] again, but what I learned in that period will stay with me however songwriting pans out in the future." She's also working with producer Mousse T. (of “I’m So *****” fame) and Italian hitmaker Alex Gaudino (the man behind “Destination Calabria”). I am very excited for this. Any fellow Lovers here want to discuss?
  23. A Twitter Britney stan asked why so many people stan the Australian queen of pop Kylie minogue when he has never heard of one mention of her in real life. Let's just say Britney stans from the UK and Oz. And most gays in the US who know the cult status of club queen kylie minogue basically dragged him and read him.. And as one user point out. Only in America are gays basic and tasteless. And tacky with their lack of music outside the US. It's well known. In Chicago and New york. Many gay clubs have a monthly night devoted to Kylie minogue. Just Like Madonna has the monthly Holy Madonna on sundays. And it's Britney ***** on fridays. Saturday's is devoted to the goddess of love With Showgirl Kylie Saturday's..
  24. In 2009. US gays and dance club goers finally got what they wanted. Kylie announced her First North American tour. Called Kylie USA 2009 aka For me, For you tour. The tour was instantly sold out in Las Vegas, New york city. Supposed to be only one show in each City. Due to huge demand in New york city. Kylie has to add two more shows to meet demand. The venues were The Pearl at the Palms. Or in new York's Hammerstein ballroom. The las Vegas show was so raved about. The mayor of Las Vegas and Palms in las Vegas. Immediately offered a two year residency gig to Kylie. She did decline. Cos of her big global status. The tour mashed Showgirl and her X tours. For such small venues. She was able to create a version of her iconic arena tour's. Most US Press agree on two things. She's one of the best dance acts ever. She's the real Successor to Madonna's crown and throne cos of her type of concert is Very Madonna type show. She hasn't toured the US Since 2011. But she headlined Pride in 2018 in New York city which was universal acclaim as usual.
  25. I made this. And these are facts. Change my mind
