  1. Kelly Rowland opens up about her experience having to live up to Beyonce comparisons. "Can you imagine what it’s like being in a group with Beyoncé?," she said in a new interview. "I can’t wear this dress because they’re going to say it’s like B. Or I can’t have a song like that because it sounds too much like B. They’re gonna compare anyways. I would be lying if I said no, it’s never bothered me. That’s bull." "There was a whole decade, if I am being completely honest, a decade, where it was like the elephant in the room. It was the thing that would constantly be on my shoulder," she added. I think it's pretty cool she's acknowledging what a hurdle that's been for her. Beyonce is clearly in a league of her own, and that's clearly been tough for Kelly as she continues to navigate her solo career. Thoughts? Related:

  4. The power and influence of Beyonce is undeniable. She works her arse off in everything she puts her fingers in. However, her whole "representing African/black culture" and cashing on it, was and is getting bit problematic. And finally someone finally called her out. Beehive, please take your swarms to some swamp, if you are offended by this. 5. BET honored Beyonce with their Humanitarian Award for her philanthropy work, including the “Formation Scholars” initiative, BeyGood4Burundi partnership with UNICEF, and her BeyGOOD’s Black Business Fund. The broadcast went down live on BET/CBS on Sunday, June 28 at 8 p.m. Eastern time. Chance the Rapper and the late Nipsey Hussle are past receipts of the award. “I want to dedicate this award to all of my brothers out there, all of my sisters out there inspiring me, marching and fighting for change. Your voices are being heard and you’re proving to our ancestors that their struggles were not in vain. Now we have one more thing we need to do to walk in our true power, and that is to vote,” Beyonce said. “I’m encouraging you to continue to take action, continue to change and dismantle a racist and unequal system,” she said. “There are people banking on us staying at home during local elections and primaries happening in states across the country. We have to vote like our life depends on it, because it does.” Thoughts? Related:

  7. Where is the Britney Army tho? Queen is getting dragged to hell and back.
  8. Is it me or her last songs always sound the same? She isn't able to sing a song anymore? I hate this way to "sing"
  9. Beyoncé wrote a letter to Kentucky's Attorney General Daniel Cameron demanding justice for Breonna Taylor, who was tragically murdered by police back in March. “Your office has both the power and the responsibility to bring justice to Breonna Taylor, and demonstrate the value of a Black woman’s life,” she wrote in the letter. “Don’t let this case fall into the pattern of no action after a terrible tragedy. With every death of a Black person at the hands of the police, there are two real tragedies: The death itself, and the inaction and delays that follow it. This is your chance to end that pattern. Take swift and decisive action in charging the officers. The next months cannot look like the last three.” Beyonce urges people to sign a petition. #JusticeForBre #BlackLivesMatter Related:
  10. A Norwegian financial newspaper named Dagens Næringsliv (DN) obtained one of TIDAL's data hard drives, and if the contents on the drive are real, it revealed the streaming platform’s play-counts for two major albums from 2016 – Beyoncé’s Lemonade and Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo – were massively inflated. DN says the hard drive contained ‘billions of rows of [internal TIDAL data]: times and song titles, user IDs and country codes.’ Tidal denies its real/accurate. It gets worse... a recent Norwegian Supreme Court Appeals Committee ruling says TIDAL has been an official suspect in a “serious data fraud investigation” by the Norwegian authorities since June 21 last year. Just an FYI, Lemonade debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 653,000 with additional album-equivalent units, including 485,000 copies in its first week of sales. So, how many copies did Lemonade really sell Regardless, it's still an immaculate body of work. Related:
  11. A Change.org campaign is close to reaching its goal of signatures. People are demanding Beyonce be removed from the Black Panther 2 project and cancel her reported $100 million deal. There are already 33K signatures. Everybody agrees #BlackLivesMatter, but Beyoncé became hated the day she embraced her race and being a proud black woman. I fully understand the Beyhive now. She's hated for all the wrong reasons, and it's very racist to say to an African American woman that she shouldn't be proud to be black. You may remember people signed a petition to ban Justin Bieber from the US a few years ago because of his crime and drama. There was so much outrage it prompted the White House to respond. What makes them think Disney will re-think the contract with Beyoncé? Update: According to MovieWeb, it's not happening. "Despite overwhelming excitement at the prospect, sources tell me there is no big Disney film deal for Beyonce, and she will not contribute to the soundtrack for #BlackPanther2. As a self-professed proud member of the Disney family, it's likely she'll work w them again at some point."
  12. Lately I've been thinking about some of my favorite movies featuring great performances from Black pop stars. Obviously the late, great Whitney Houston comes to mind right away. The Bodyguard, Waiting to Exhale, The Preacher's Wife. Whitney wowed us as a leading lady in The Bodyguard and her performance broke barriers at the time. Even though she faced criticism from film critics, it's safe to say some of her movies have undoubtedly stood the test of time. Mariah has been cast in some very impressive dramatic roles in Lee Daniels films Precious and The Butler. Justice For Glitter! Beyonce in Dreamgirls and The Lion King. Janet Jackson (Miss Jackson if you're nasty) in Poetic Justice Diana Ross, Janelle Monae, Aaliyah, Will Smith. The list goes on... I'm curious what some of your fave crossover performances are. Let's discuss!
  13. Beyonce is reportedly in talks with Disney that'll bank her a cool $100 million for her contribution on three different major releases. That includes a hand on the soundtrack for Marvel film Black Panther 2 and two other blockbusters, The Sun reports. A source said: “Beyoncé has become a major player for Disney and is the perfect fit for their brand. “She’s worked on a number of projects for them, including voicing Nala in the reboot of The Lion King, and now they’re keen to secure her for more projects. “Disney have put forward a deal worth around £80million, which will secure Beyoncé for three major projects, including the Black Panther sequel. “As part of the deal they are also trying to get her team to agree to have Beyoncé voicing some of the new documentaries coming to Disney Plus. “After the success of having Meghan Markle voicing the film Elephant on the platform, they have projects coming up which align perfectly with Beyoncé’s brand. “The negotiations are still ongoing but it’s the final details that are being thrashed out now.” Queen of Disney! Who run the world? Beyonce. Thoughts, Exhale? Related:
  14. Beyonce delivered a near 10-minute speech for the graduating class of 2020. In it, she shines a light on the Black Lives Matter movement and sexism in the music industry. “Thank you for using your collective voice and letting the worlds know that Black lives matter. The killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and so many others have left us all broken. It has left the entire country searching for answers. We’ve seen that our collective hearts, when put to positive action, could start the wheels of change. Real change has started with you, this new generation of high school and college graduates who we celebrate today,” she said. “The entertainment business is still very sexist. It’s still very male-dominated and as a woman, I did not see enough female role models given the opportunity to what I knew I had to do — to run my label, and management company, to direct my films and produce my tours that meant ownership, owning my masters, owning my art, owning my future and writing my own story. Not enough Black women had a seat at the table. So I had to go and chop down that wood and build my own table. Then I had to invite the best there was to have a seat. That meant hiring women, men outsiders, underdogs, people that were overlook and waiting to be seen,” she said. She touched on how race and gender played a part in music corporations overlooking some talented candidates. “Many of the best creatives and business people, who although supremely qualified and talented, were turned down over and over as executives at major corporations because they were female or because of racial disparity. And I’ve been very proud to provide them with a place at my table. One of the main purposes of my art for many years has been dedicated to showing the beauty of Black people to the world, our history, our profundity and the value of Black lives. I’ve tried my best to pull down the veil of appeasement to those who may feel uncomfortable with our excellence,” she said. “To the young women, our future leaders, know that you’re about to make the world turn. I see you. You are everything the world needs. Make those power moves. Be excellent. And to the young kings, lean into your vulnerability and redefine masculinity. Lead with heart. There’s so many different ways to be brilliant. I believe you and every human being is born with a masterful gift. Don’t let the world make you feel that you have to look a certain way to be brilliant. And no you don’t have to speak a certain way to be brilliant. But you do have to spread your gift around the planet in a way that is authentically you.” “To all those who feel different. If you’re part of a group that’s called ‘other,’ a group that does not get the chance to be center stage, build your own stage and make them see you. Your queerness is beautiful, your blackness is beautiful. Your compassion, your understanding, your fight for people who may be different from you, is beautiful. I hope you continue to go into the world and show them that you will never stop being yourself. That it’s your time now, make them see you.” Very eloquent. Watch below:

  16. is the fake feminism the lesbian faux pas in videos this decade.. when Britney kissed madonna it was considered a marketing tactic , shock and awe.. more acts after that followed in same footstep until it became mainstream , T.a.T.u did it , Christina did it , and others.. but in recent years that has been replaced with a so call female empowerment love for each other act, singers are doing in videos. take for instance ariana , miley and lana in their video, beyonce and nicki minaj, nicki minaj and everyone she collaborated with .. but after the music wraps up and the song is out of the charts they are no longer friends and start ripping each other up in headlines and interviews.... is it all just publicity or any of it is genuine ..
  17. Beyonce spoke out amidst the tragic death of George Floyd. She urges people to stop normalizing this pain. “No more senseless killings of human beings,” she said while Miles Davis’ “So What” played in the background. She added that her message wasn’t just for people of color, but for all races. “George is all our family in humanity. He’s our family because he is a fellow American.” Beyonce also urged people to sign the Change.org petition, which currently has over 6 million signatures. The petition reads: Watch Beyonce's video below: Related:
  18. I thought long and hard before posting this and decided it was important to tell you you're wrong if you think Beyonce has a better album than 4. It was tough to decide between 4 and her self-titled (Lemonade is pretty epic to me, too), but I always come back to 4 when I'm in a particular type of mood. "Love On Top" is one of my Top 5 songs ever. The key changes The emotion in "I Care." The bops that are "Party" with Kanye and Andre 3000, "Run the World (Girls)," "Schoolin' Life," "Countdown" & "Rather Die Young." The album flows so perfectly and the songwriting is brilliant. Does anyone agree that '4' is her best album? If not, which one is and why? I'm curious.
  19. They did it! Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce's "Savage" Remix tops the Hot 100 this week. Beyonce joins Mariah Carey as the only other artist to have #1s in the '00s, '10s & '20s. Some stats from Billboard:
  20. Beyonce was spotted driving around LA wearing her face mask upside down. Beyonce wears her mask upside down so I wear my mask upside down. Someone even made artwork out of it Source: Daily Mail
  21. I think one of the most difficult generations to belong to right now besides being an elderly person is a high school student. Imagine not getting the opportunity to celebrate the milestones every adolescent before you did. This pandemic is tough, but some super star A-listers are joining forces to make the world a better place and ease the angst. YouTube is streaming a virtual graduation event on June 6th at 3 pm EST. It features speeches from the Obamas (), Lady Gaga, Beyonce and more. Gaga is performing as well, as is BTS, Camila Cabello, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion (with Beyonce as as surprise I bet ) and more. Are YOU tuning in?
  22. I'm not a huge fan of chart and streaming data, but I AM a huge proponent of girl power. This is why everyone is like, WhErE's R9 Kinda surprised about Halsey. Anyone missing?
  23. So recently..Say So remix went to #1 and Nicki minaj got her first #1 But if you ask me her previous songs deserved number 1 rather than say so remix Say so remix actually sounded like it was fan made..While Savage Remix had that potential to be #1 What do you guys think?
