  1. Lip Sync Battle has given us some memorable performances and some... not so memorable. Which do you think were the best and worst performances? Kate Upton doing Baby One More Time is one of the most memorable.
  2. America believes in free speech, right to be ****** and provocative. However we have a huge hurdle in Asia as our art goes against their government, religious beliefs (it's illegal to have Intercourse before marriage in several Asia countries). A lot of the stuff we believe creates a huge culture clash that believes in censorship, controlling people what they can and cannot listen to. In china. The government has to listen to all the music. Approving what gets out to the public. Gaga was once banned. Got unbanned only to get banned again when she associated herself with China's Greatest enemy. The Dalai Lama. You guys should be grateful you don't have governments telling you. Who you can see in concert or what songs you're allowed to listen to. @Roxxy @JordanMiller FYI. China perfers your two kids be boys. Girls aren't government approved at all to be born.
  3. Both have similar style in music billie is a bit more pop ( though she hates that ) and Lorde is more indie pop. Which do u prefer ?
  4. Ur suggestion for workout songs, not playlists. Post youtube links to chk them out. Something upbeat progressive beat not monotonous .. keep in mind jogging squats and HIIT WORKOUTS ...
  5. Why was Madonna's Madame X so underrated and not a commercial success? The way the album was received reminded me of American Life which was one of her best albums and ahead of its time with its message and topics it dealt with. Madame X was as well one of Madonna most ambitious albums music wise , creativity wise and even the music videos. "Dark Ballet" reminded me of the "Like A Prayer" video and song. So why was Madame X overlooked? Does Madonna's age have to do with it? Is she expected to fail and go away and never do music again?
  6. A lighthearted thread, just relax and post your current faves
  7. Hello everyone, did this a while ago just for fun, honoring the queen. Hope everyone enjoys it. Britney will always be my goddess and inspiration. https://www.byqueiroz.com/animation-9
  8. @JordanMiller ur answer to a previous thread of mine gave me this idea Which Soundtrack album is the best Whitney Vs Gaga
  9. ** DISCLAIMER .... THIS IS NOT TO START A STAN WAR.... I'm just curious, based on the recent poll of who had the BEST decade, who do you all think had the most disappointing, and why? I'm curious what albums we didn't like, where we think things could've been better... tours, singles.... let's have some fun! For me, it's Christina Aguilera. I have been a fan of Christina since 1999. I was so stoked after her long hiatus to hear 'Bionic' was coming out, and I think it's one of the most flavorful albums of the 2010's. It was extremely disappointing to see which singles were chosen, how the tour was canceled, and the album ultimately scrapped. From there, 'Lotus' disappointed me because it was so generic, and nothing happened until 'Liberation'. I do think Lady X brought it back full swing with her residency and that phenomenal 'Liberation'.... but Christina could've had such a huge 'Bionic' era if they managed it a little differently....
  10. Coyote Ugly - LeAnn Rimes - Cant Fight The Moonlight
  11. Recently, Billie Eilish came out and stated that she would like for her music to not be referred to as pop. It got me to thinking about what “Pop” music will look like in the coming decade and who will shape the landscape and set the trends. Before I go into that I’d like to acknowledge the artists from the 2010’s that helped shape the landscape of pop music. The artists that I am focusing on are somewhat of one hit wonders nonetheless they did help curate trends and shape music during the last decade. They may no longer achieve the same success in the coming decade, but their music will be heard for generations to come. I’d also like to hear others opinions on what artists or songs you think helped shape music in the 2010’s up to what music is now. Lorde – You couldn’t go anywhere without hearing the song Royals by Lorde. Before Royals became the smash that everyone knew she had released The Love Club on Soundcloud. When Royals became a hit she released Pure Heroine which was well received and had a few more hits such Team and Tennis Court. Lorde went on to release Melodrama in 2017 but it did not receive as much hype as her first effort. Lorde has been compared to Lana Del Rey which I do see similarities but I also feel that Billie Eilish can be compared to Lorde. I’d also like to add that I feel Lorde is 2010’s version of Alanis Morrisette. One Republic – One Republic’s success ignited with the hit Apologize which came out in 2007. By the 2009 the album Waking Up came out and the hits Secrets, All the right moves and Good Life became hits in 2010. One Republic’s success carried on thru artists such as Beyonce with her hit Halo and Kelly Clarkson’s Already Gone. Their success would go even further by 2013 with the hit Counting Stars. One Republic was not only writing for some of 2010’s biggest pop stars but they also influenced bands like Fun. Who came out with hits such Some Nights & We Are Young. Additionally, Fun. Went onto write P!nks hit Just give me a reason. Along with Fun. Came bands such as The Lumineers, Lady Antebellum, Neon Trees and The Bleachers. Carly Rae Jepson – In 2012 you couldn’t escape the memes or the viral videos of Carly Rae Jepsen’s song Call me maybe. The song was infectious and the hook was joyous. Carly brought fun bubbly pop back during a time of electronica, rap and serious pop music. I would consider Call Me Maybe to be one of the biggest songs of 2010 and it’s definitely something that you can easily listen to today. I feel Carly helped pave the way for acts such as Kim Petras, Charli XCX and even Billie Eilish. Kiss was released in 2012 but it wasn’t until Carly’s E MO TION album that we got to see her shine as an artist. Tracks such as Warm Blood and I Didn’t Just Come Here to Dance keep you lingering and wanting more. Other tracks such as Your Type and Gimmie Love give you hope that Pop Music still existed at a time when R&B, Hip Hop and Electronic Bangers were the craze. In 2019 Carly released Dedicated and my heart skipped a beat, but it seemed as though no one else felt the same way. Later in that summer I went to an art show in San Francisco and an Artist performed a dance routine to Carly’s Too Much and it was then that I knew Carly may no longer be the Call Me Maybe megastar but she still inspires and releases superb pop music.
  12. Share music from around the world old or new a new sound to introduce members over here to something new.. This is From Nigeria and was a huge hit back then .. lets try to choose songs that are not too main stream
  13. The only one they basically got wrong is Like a Virgin by Madonna. It's not really about ***. It was never written for a female artist at all. It's a double entendre yes. But the songwriters and Madonna herself stated several times. Reading the lyrics is essential. It's basically about being in a relationship and the person basically took away the pain, the heartbreak and the ex themself away. Basically it's all shiny and new. And it makes you feel like a Virgin all over again. That's how good the relationship is.
  14. Urban Outfitter has announced and confirmed "Femme fatale" vinyl on 2/3 - Here's a little sneak peek
  15. Gaga album chromatic does not hold up infront of Sophie Ellis Bextor album "Make A Scene" from 2011 https://youtu.be/bWkP-mt_bOk
  16. Okay, so what I'm talking about is two eras: Femme Fatale and Britney Jean. Britney was acting so... indifferent during the interviews, especially when someone asked her about the music. A lot of us didn't know about her situation before #freeBritney happened and some of us thought it's Britney's choice to act like that, that she's lost her passion to music, fans, etc... I feel like Britney was kind of forced to record those albums. Maybe it was like, she had a concept and started writing, recording and then her team scrapped it because they wanted sells? (You know, Britney Jean was meant to be a personal album.) Well, how ironic, because I think if Britney'd go really deep with expressing herself in music and appeared as an artist, it would sell way better than generic pop music. Some of those interviews were a bit painful to watch, I didn't always understand why Britney was acting like that but now I do - she had no choice. Basically, I know that Britney is just a human so, like all of us she made mistakes, but it's different when you're forced to do some things you don't want to do. So yeah, I think we can blame her team for a lot of (scrapped or flopped) stuff. If you're using somebody against their will to have profits, it's not going to work well. On Glory - I feel like she had some freedom during this era, but it certainly wasn't 100%. But clearly, it's obvious that her passion to music is still alive. Of course, it's just my opinion, what do you think about this?
  17. It took me almost 2 days but it's finally here, as far as I'm concerned this is the most complete list out there! Hope you like it and please let me know if I missed anything
  18. I mean an album that set the standards and trends for the next year or two, or just was a pioneer together with some other similar works. I think it was Femme Fatale. It introduced a dubstep into pop music, also brought EDM in general to its peak, who still lasted until mid 2013. BJ and Glory weren't that influental and already were highly influenced by other trending albums. What do you guys think?
  19. As a self-proclaimed 30’s Gay, I have to admit a lot of the current ‘Pop’ music trends don’t interest me. (Don’t Come for me just yet, I’m not shading your faves). Growing up in a strictly religious home, and feeling consistently out of place, or never quite right, I connected to Hayley Williams early on, and fell in love my Freshman year of college, when RIOT! was released. Something about the angsty, pint sized vixen was just so endearing. She was a little bit mis-understood, she was in pain, maybe a little bit tortured, but she was determined to get the last laugh. As the years went on for Paramore, their creativity shifted, the band had their ups and downs... but I always Loved Hayley’s song-writing, and the maturity that grew into it. For years I’ve wondered what a solo album from Hayley might sound like— and it appears it was worth the wait. Now, it’s just an opinion, but I think Hayley Williams just delivered some of, if not THE best music of her career. I also think it’s one of the best albums to be released this year so far. I knew from the moment I first heard ‘Simmer’ that this record was going to pack an emotional punch. The song was brimming with dark vibes over that pulsating, dark node. What I was presently surprised by was how unique the collection would be. For the ‘Pop’ enthusiasts out there, Hayley doesn’t disappoint. Songs like ‘My Friend’, ‘Dead Horse’, ‘Over Yet’ and ‘Sudden Desire’ pack all the experimental pop vibes you could hope for in this COVID-19 state of mind we’re all in, well others like ‘Cinnamon’, ‘Simmer’ and ‘Why We Ever’ take a deeper dive into Williams’ post-divorce psyche. Call it catharsis, call it introspective..... Petals for Amor is an album you shouldn’t miss. Thoughts? Also y’all, this is my first “Topic” in Exhale. Give a guy some likes!!!!! Hayley Williams @ YouTube Petals For Armor — Apple Music
  20. Okey, let's try another discussion. I couldn't decide between these two questions, so let's play both ways. 2020 started very veeery badly, so we can’t rule out an eventual alien attack, right? For that we must be prepared and if we have learned anything, it's that we can destroy them with **drums please** that’s right, MUSIC! So here's the thing, you can answer one question or both, maybe the same song can be used for both answers.. who knows? Let's see what happens! A) What song do you love so much but it gives others a headache? (Guilty pleasure) B) What song do you think can save the world and blow up aliens brains at the same time? Watch this video I made very quickly so you can understand a little bit better! EDIT 1: They blocked the video, I'll try somewhere else VIMEO: FLICKR:
  21. Jimmy Fallon caught up with the current Prince of Latin X music, Maluma! Check it out
