  1. Christina Aguilera says she plans on releasing her Spanish-language album this year. It's worth reminding you she's been saying this since 2018, so maybe don't hold your breath. Related:
  2. Christmas queen Exhale, did you like her performance of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Xmas" more than "The Christmas Song?" Related:
  3. So today, MTV showed the craziest TRL moments, and it included a clip of the host asking Xtina about her shading Britney in blender magazine. I had never heard this before, but the quote is: “Well, I feel I’ve grown a lot this year, and we did used to be friends once, after all. She seems to me like a lost little girl, someone who desperately needs guidance. But who knows? maybe I’m not the right person to offer it. We’re very different people, aren’t we? In our world, there are different types of entertainers. You have your artists and you have your regular performers. I’m an artist, and, well…” Christina Aguilera aka the FLOP OF POP should’ve been cancelled immediately following this. And to think I just made a thread a couple of weeks ago saying they need to collaborate. Heres the full article if you want to read it. She also says Britney refused to kiss her (yeah, in 2002/2003 Xtina was pretty raunchy, had nasty unwashed hair, pencil thin eyebrows, was touring with Justin Timberlake, and was hooking up with Carson Daly, etc. so I’m glad Britney didn’t kiss her) https://www.madonnatribe.com/decade/2003/xtina-on-madonna-britney-and-the-kiss-in-blender-magazine/
  4. Christina Agee Christina Aguilera says record execs at the start of her career wanted to rename her to that. I- “I remember when I was first coming up, there was a big debate around me on changing my last name because all the businessmen around me thought it was too long, too complicated, and too ethnic,” Christina told Billboard. “‘Christina Agee‘ was an option, but that clearly wasn’t going to fly. I was dead set against the idea and I wanted to represent who I really was. Being Latina, it is a part of my heritage and who I am,” she added. “There was another time in my childhood when I was being asked to legally change my name to my stepfather’s to be legally adopted and I was again dead set against it,” Christina said. “I’ve been fighting for my last name my whole life.” Can you imagine if she went by that and not Aguilera?!
  5. Christina Aguilera performed "The Christmas Song" on Seth Meyers. Innocent enough. That is, until the Internet roasted her for the vocal roller coaster she took us on. Christina clapped back with a video shout-singing though. We love to hear it. Exhale, did you enjoy Xtina's Xmas performance? There was also this viral Tweet but the account is now suspended. Xtina really won The clap back: Related:
  6. So we all know Mariah Carey is queen of Christmas. But there r a lot of other Christmas songs and albums out there. So Xtina resinged her Christmas song on Seth Meyers. Of course it was loud. Let me know how do you feel about Xtinas loud version of the Christmas song. Did u get into holiday spirit after listening? P.s. by the way her look is flawless but i'd rather use different colour of costume
  7. On November 14, 2000, Jive Records released the holiday album Platinum Christmas. It contained 16 songs by different artists such as Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, *NSync and Monica among others. The album peaked at #32 on the US Billboard 200. Britney's track, My Only Wish (This Year) opens the album and it has become the most popular song out of the record. It's been included in several Christmas albums over the years and in 2020 it was re-released as a vinyl and digital single with a new cover. On Spotify, is Britney's sixth most streamed song. The American tracklist of the album is: My Only Wish (This Year) - Britney Spears Grown-Up Christmas List - Monica This Christmas - Joe I Don't Wanna Spend One More Christmas Without You - *NSync Silent Night - Christina Aguilera Posada (Pilgrimage to Bethlehem) - Santana Little Drummer Boy - Jars of Clay Christmas Song - Dave Matthews Christmas Day - Dido Merry X-Mas Everybody - Steps Christmas Time - Backstreet Boys World Christmas - R. Kelly My Gift to You - Donell Jones Sleigh Ride - TLC The Christmas Song - Toni Braxton Who Would Imagine a King - Whitney Houston The international version replaces Donell Jones' song by S Club 7's Perfect Christmas and scrambles the order of t he songs a bit: My Only Wish (This Year) - Britney Spears Perfect Christmas - S Club 7 I Don't Wanna Spend One More Christmas Without You - *NSync Merry X-Mas Everybody - Steps Grown-Up Christmas List - Monica World Christmas - R. Kelly Silent Night - Christina Aguilera Posada (Pilgrimage to Bethlehem) - Santana Little Drummer Boy - Jars of Clay Christmas Song - Dave Matthews Christmas Day - Dido Christmas Time - Backstreet Boys This Christmas - Joe Sleigh Ride - TLC The Christmas Song - Toni Braxton Who Would Imagine a King - Whitney Houston Two follow up albums were released: Platinum Christmas II in 2004 and Platinum Christmas III in 2006, but we don't talk about them.
  8. Christina Aguilera splits from longtime manager Irving Azoff, the Los Angeles Times reports. Instead, Roc Nation is managing her. She already appears on the company's website. Other artist signed to Roc Nation include Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Tinashe and many more. It appears she is still signed to RCA for releasing music - her name is still on RCA's website. Roc Nation will focus on management. Time for the resurgence. Rise, Xtina, rise! Thoughts, Exhale?
  9. She's on fire I can't embed the posts, but she's been sharing some photos with different Halloween costumes on her Instagram Did other artists dress up for Halloween? Thalia did Ace Ventura lol
  10. On October 30, 2001, a group of artists under the name of Artists Against AIDS Worldwide released a 9 mix CD, which included multiple cover versions of the Marvin Gaye song What's Going On. The intention behind this album was to benefit the AIDS programs in Africa and other regions, but after the 9/11 attacks, it was decided that half of the proceeds would go to the American Red Cross' fund as well. The artists that collaborated in this campaign were Christina Aguilera, Backstreet Boys, Mary J. Blige, Bono, Destiny's Child, Jermaine Dupri, Fred Durst, Eve, Perry Farrell, Nelly Furtado, Nona Gaye, Darren Hayes, Ja Rule, Jagged Edge, Alicia Keys, Aaron Lewis, Lil' Kim, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Martin, Pat Monahan, Monica, Nas, Nelly, *NSync, P. Diddy, T Boz and Chili, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Michael Stipe, User and Scott Weiland. The single, produced by Jermaine Dupri and Bono, peaked at #27 on the BBH100 and it became a Top 10 hit in several other countries. The music video was directed by Jake Scott.
  11. 18 years ago today, Christina Aguilera released her fourth studio album, Stripped. It's one of my favorite albums ever. SO many gems. "Walk Away" is in my Top 10 all-time fav songs. Exhale, let's celebrate Stripped today shall we? What's your favorite song off the album?
  12. Christina Aguilera says she's not going on a diet in the foreseeable future, so haters / people judging her body are just going to have to deal with it. Xtina lands in the new issue of L'Officiel Italia. In it, she says: I have a couple of thoughts about this. I love the confidence and the no f---s attitude. I try to live my life only giving f---s to the things I care about. However, I think it'd be beneficial if Legend X, and anyone else interested in ramping up their healthy lifestyle, viewed nutrition in a different light. The word "diet" has a lot of emotion and stigma behind it. Watching what you eat, being mindful of macro and micro nutrients, learning when to stop eating when you're full, portion control etc... these are all really powerful tools to becoming your best self. I do love body positivity, but I also love when people strive to better themselves (versus complacency – btw not saying Xtina is being complacent – just speaking in general terms). I hope this doesn't come off as insensitive or that I know it all. From personal experience, I have lived my life with and without focus on nutrition, and I find that dialing things in nutrition-wise gave me a fuller life (pun intended sigh). Of course Xtina has the right to live however she wants to. As does anyone! It's HER body and I respect that. Maybe it's hard for me to see outside of my bubble. Exhale, what are your thoughts on this? Related:
  13. So, I revisited Bionic recently and I thought about how I could have sworn that "Keeps Gettin' Better" was on this album but I added it and it makes the album so much better. My tracklist: 1. Bionic (Intro) 2. Keeps Gettin' Better 3. Not Myself Tonight 4. Dynamite 5. Elastic Love 6. Prima Donna 7. Desnudate 8. WooHoo (Radio Edit) 9. My Girls 10. Monday Morning 11. Lift Me Up 12. All I Need 13. You Lost Me It is honestly her BEST album if you play it in this track order!
  14. Christina Aguilera shared a post with a quote by Sara Sütterlin: "I believe in the importance of women creating space for other women. A continuous sharing of all things, a transference of power." Along with the quote, she shared two collages of pictures of herself with other female artists, including one with Britney and Madonna from their VMA's 2003 performance.
  15. Alicia Keys says she nearly gave away one of her biggest songs ever to Christina Aguilera. Keys tells StereoGum she had just written "If I Ain't Got You" and Xtina's label wanted her to contribute something to Stripped. Keys says she nearly offered it before being persuaded to keep it for herself. She wrote "Impossible" instead (which she's featured on). STEREOGUM: This is one of my favorite songs that you’ve ever collaborated on. KEYS: Ooh look at you. You really know stuff! [Laughs] STEREOGUM: I know during that time she was going through just a musical rebirth and wanted to get some of the more soulful voices in the game at that time. KEYS: There’s a really funny, amazing story around this song. I think we were on the same label at the time. She reached out and was like, “Would you write something for me?” And then it came through so many emails. What a voice! I know I could write something fire for her. So time passed and I hadn’t written the song yet. And [the label] was like, “Do you have anything for Christina?” I remember I had just recently written “If I Ain’t Got You.” STEREOGUM: Oh wow! KEYS: I told my A&R at the time, “Let’s play her ‘If I Ain’t Got You.’” STEREOGUM: What? My mind is blown right now. KEYS: He said, “Are you ******* crazy? We’re not giving her that song. Are you out your mind?” [Laughs] I was like, “Why not? I’ll write a hundred more of those, it’s fine. I think she should hear it. I don’t really think it’s a big deal.” But I thought, “Fine, I’ll go write another song.” So I went off and wrote “Impossible.” I went to cut it with her and I love how she sounded on it. It was such a cool vibe for us to be able to work together during those times. But I will never forget that I would have given away “If I Ain’t Got You.” STEREOGUM: That would have changed the course of both of your careers. That is crazy. KEYS: Isn’t that crazy? So that’s a good story. STEREOGUM: I’m learning so much. The intro is so cute, when Christina goes: “Play something for me, Alicia!” KEYS: I cut the vocals with her because I produced everything. So it’s really important to be in the same space to just get all the energy. That was great. She sounded so good and she’s very special too. Thoughts, Exhale?! Can you imagine Xtina singing "If I Ain't Got You" instead of Alicia?
  16. Christina Aguilera showed love for Madonna and Beyonce in her new interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe. On Madonna: “Madonna, first of all, the queen of reinventing herself, was a huge inspiration,” she said. “When I was little, I was not allowed to listen to her or watch her videos or anything. It was just like a no-no, but then whenever you grow up, and I discovered her catalog and her videos and the fact that she had such a message.” “Her documentary, Truth or Dare, was a really big part of, ‘Oh my God, you don’t have to just, quote unquote, sing a song. You literally can just say so much more and go so much deeper.’ Truly, the way you see her image changed through the albums. I mean, that was a big inspiration for me to want to change it up, to want to keep pushing, to grow, to reinvent myself, to discover more things about me and myself as an artist.” On Beyonce: “I have so much respect for Beyoncé. She always kind of stands in that lane of being true to her and what works for her… putting herself out there is such an empowering role model and figure for women as well. I love women that speak to women, being such a voice of empowerment. ‘Girls Who Run The World,’ I remember that being a Major Lazer song and I was obsessed with it. And I was like, ‘Oh man, Beyoncé went and took Major Lazer and made it, ‘Girls, who run the world?’ I was like, ‘What?'” On new music: “I’ve been in the studio all of quarantine, actually, experiencing new people, new relationships, new writers, COVID-safe, of course. I’ve had a lot of time to think and to reevaluate some things around me during this time… if you can stay, I think, grounded in your own truth and being able to put a stop to what’s making you unhappy and being able to really pinpoint it, and you can come out of there in a really cool place. So yeah, I’m making music that is really meaningful to me right now.” We love to see the praise! Didn't Xtina say she was releasing a Spanish-langauge album years ago?
  17. Tina Fey quizzed Mean Girls super fan Mariah Carey. One of the questions was true or false: Did Damian sing "Genie in a Bottle" at the talent show? Mariah answered correctly: false! Tina follows up: do you remember what he does sing? Mariah: "he sings a different song." Mariah follows up saying she genuinely didn't remember, but Fighters aren't so convinced. Not trying to pit these two icons against one another. Just interested in your thoughts BTW... the correct answer is Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful." Xtina part starts at 2:05.
  18. On September 12, 2000, Christina Aguilera released her second studio album Mi Reflejo. The album is completely sung in Spanish and it includes five Spanish-language versions of tracks from her previous album, in addition to four original compositions and two cover songs, including a collaboration with Luis Fonsi. The tracks were adapted and composed by Rudy Pérez who also produced the album. In the United States, Mi Reflejo peaked at number-one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums and Latin Pop Albums charts, and it also peaked at #27 on the BB200. The album was the best-selling Latin pop album of 2000 and was certified 6× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It has sold 2.2 million copies worldwide. Upon its release, Mi Reflejo received generally mixed reviews from music critics, who noted musical similarities to Christina Aguilera. The album led to Aguilera receiving the Latin Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Album and two Billboard Latin Music Awards.

  20. On August 28, 2003, the VMA's were hosted at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City. To open the show, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera performed together Madonna's classic hit Like a Virgin, and were later joined by Madonna herself to perform Hollywood. In the middle of the performance, Madonna kissed Britney and then Christina, going down in history as one of the most iconic moments of the VMA's and awards shows in general. Missy Elliott then appeared onstage to perform her song Work It, and then the four together will close the performance with Hollywood again. Sadly, MTV's YouTube channel has made the official video private amid the upcoming 2020 ceremony, so here's another low quality version of the performance: Britney also had a nomination that night for Best Video from a Film, for Boys (Co-Ed Remix) ft. Pharrell Williams, but lost to Eminem's Lose Yourself.
  21. Christina Aguilera received the Video Vanguard Award at the VMAs performed her Mulan tracks "Reflection" and "Loyal Brave True" on Good Morning America. It's interesting to see performances are now pre-taped ahead of big events instead of life. The production value is far better, but there's something about a live event that's special, too. Thoughts on Xtina's performance?
