On November 18, 2016, Britney Spears released the Slumber Party video featuring Tinashe, two days after the new version of the track was released on digital platforms. The music video was directed by Colin Tilley, a relatively new director that had already worked with people like Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj. The video was shot in October, and both Britney and Tinashe posted about it on social media. Various pictures from on set were shared, revealing the collaboration which wasn't originally on the album's tracklist. In an interview for Extra with Mario Lopez, she talked about the video saying: "[...] we just did the video and it's kinda like a younger "Eyes Wide Shut" theme. So it's kind of a little risky, it's very ****, it's very moody, and it's, um, fun! It's fun, yeah." When asked about Tinashe on an interview for MTV, Britney said: “Tinashe is so sweet. I just always see my fans talking about her online, and it just made so much sense to collaborate on this song. She was amazing, and would love to find another way to work together in the future!” On this videoshoot was where Britney Spears met actor Sam Asghari, who played the love interest in the video, and who would later become her boyfriend (and they're still together to this day). According to Sam, he didn't have to audition, instead, he got hand-picked by Britney after someone that was working on the production who was close to him, sent his pictures to the casting director. He had already appeared on Fifth Harmony's Work from Home video earlier that year. The music video premiered on her YouTube channel. Originally, fans were happy because the video used a different track than that from the digital platforms. The version of the video didn't have Britney's high pitched vocals at the end of the song. However, the audio was later replaced to match the one from iTunes, Spotify, etc. but the original version can still be found in some websites. The music video was well received by fans and critics alike, comparing it to her 2002 Boys video. For a while it was trending on YouTube, even above Shakira's Chantaje which premiered the same day, but eventually lost momentum. 4 years later, it still hasn't hit the 100M views mark. To this day, Slumber Party is Britney's latest video, and ever since its release, this has been the longest period of time without a new Britney video in her entire career (4 years and counting). Previously the longest gap between videos had been Someday (I Will Understand) - Gimme More, but Slumber Party surpassed that in 2019 .

On November 16, 2016, Britney Spears "released" Slumber Party featuring Tinashe as the second single off her ninth studio album Glory. The song wasn't actually released as an individual single, instead they just replaced the original Slumber Party track (sans Tinashe) on all the digital platforms with the new version. We did eventually get a Remix EP in December though, but strangely, it didn't include the standard track, only the remixes. It was written by Mattias Larsson, Robin Fredriksson, Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter, and produced by Mattman & Robin. The reggae and R&B influenced song talks about slumber parties and teenage games such as "seven minutes in heaven" as double entendre of much more adult topics It was sent to radio on November 22. The song peaked at #86 on the Billboard Hot 100, however it went #1 on the US Dance Club Songs chart and #27 on the Mainstream Top 40. It was in October of that year when Tinashe hinted to be recording vocals for a "legendary collaboration" on her social media. A few days later, it was confirmed through Britney Spears' account, that they were already filming the music video for Slumber Party, with the quote "Neighbors say we're causing a commotion..." The music video was released on November 18, so come back in two days for the celebration of that :P The first live performance of the song, was actually the same day it came out, on November 16. Britney Spears added Slumber Party to her Piece of Me show in Las Vegas. Tinashe performed the song with Britney for the first time at the KISS-FM Jingle Ball on December 2nd Then it was performed again at the Triple Ho and B96 Jingle Bash festivals. Tinashe later joined Britney at her Piece of Me show in Vegas on January 25, 2017. The song was also performed at the 2017 Britney: Live in Concert Asian Tour and the Piece of Me Tour in 2018, though it was removed from the setlist for the final dates on the latter.

On September 28, 2016, Britney Spears was interviewed at The Jonathan Ross show, and she also performed Make Me..., the lead single off Glory. The show didn't air until October 1st, though. In the interview she talked about her love for rice, dating lizard people, admitted to farting onstage and also played some games, including singing Shake It Off after inhaling helium from a ballon. Most noteworthy, people who attended the filming of the episode revealed she also talked about drug use and the party scene in Vegas, but most importantly, that she allegedly talked about her conservatorship and the restrictions it has when it comes to recording her music. Such declarations were cut from the show when it aired on October 1st.

On September 27, 2016, Britney Spears performed at The Roundhouse as the eighth concert of the 10th annual Apple Music Festival (which would turn out to be the last one). The concert was an adaptation of her Britney: Piece of Me show that she presented in Las Vegas, with a few changes since she didn't count with all the props and the shape of the Planet Hollywood stage. In terms of the songs she performed, Everytime and I Love Rock 'N' Roll were removed from the setlist.

On August 28, 2016 the VMA's were held at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan. Rihanna received the Video Vanguard Award, and Beyoncé won 8 awards that night, overtaking Madonna's record of most moonmen with a total of 26. That year, also marked the return of Britney Spears to the VMA's stage since her last, heavily criticized performance in 2007. Britney performed the lead single off her ninth studio album Glory, Make Me... which features rapper G-Eazy. He joined her onstage to do his rap, and then the performance transitioned to Me, Myself and I, a song originally performed by G-Eazy and Bebe Rexha. They closed the number by doing the final part of Make Me...

Hello everyone So today I was streaming Glory which is what we all should do at all times and I thought it would be interesting to re order the album a little bit I absolutely love Glory and it's in my holy trinity, but I think the order of the songs is a little wonky at times My to-go order nowadays is this, I tried to make it make sense as a story: Invitation (Brinty is ***** for this guy and she's very much out there asking for him to **** her already) Slumber Party (she teams up with her friend who's also ***** for some guy and they're having a sleepover talking about how much they wanna **** their guys) If I'm Dancing (They play Britney's Tom Dinner and she's totally surprised by the fact that that recording exists, proceeds to create an intricate armography choreo mixed with zumba) Do You Wanna Come Over? (following day, her friend convinces her to sext her crush) Man On The Moon (dramaticney had a dream about the guy last night and now she's thinking she can't compete with the kind of girls he likes) Just Luv Me (her DMs get more desperate) Change Your Mind (No Seas Cortés) (hornyney gets a **** pic back and they're fully gonna ****, she says something in Spanish cus he looks ethnic) Private Show (they meet up and do the f**king) Make Me (they continue that) Better (she's fully fallen for him because she's discovered her crush also likes to dance to Janet Jackson) Coupure Électrique (she learns some french, at this point she discovers her bf actually is french, overseas places like France, Spain and Canada are very hard to differenciate) Clumsy (they're fully doing the f**king again) What You Need (this one's actually about her children and how she's a great mother and deserves full custody) Hard To Forget Ya (going through a rough patch because her bf couldn't tell who was jayden and who was "the other one") Love Me Down (she stopped messaging him for 20 minutes after that mistake, then they ****) Just Like Me (going to pick up her kids, she finds out her bf is f**king myah marie, who has developed the ability to not only sound like Britney, she also looks exactly like her) Liar (turns out he hadn't just f**ked myah, it was also all the other ladies that sang on BJ other than Britney that didn't sound like Myah either) So I thought it'd be cool if you guys shared your re-orders and stuff you can take songs out, shuffle them however you want, add remixes if needed!

Britney’s intro reel before her 2016 BBMAs performance: I’ve made notes of famous faces that we saw in the audience that night: 3:20- Jessica Alba, and Wiz Khalifa pops up 3:36- Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn 4:05- Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, and Laverne Cox behind 4:41- Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas, and Joe Jonas behind them 5:47- Halsey and some lady? 7:18- Kylie Jenner Others in attendance: 1:19- Megan Trainor 1:36- it says Zendaya here but isn’t that Kylie Jenner? Let me know if I left out anybody else? Of the celebrities there, I would say Jessica Alba, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, and Kristen Bell would be Britney’s peers, because of their ages and they also became famous during the prime years/late 90’s & early 00’s. Meghan Trainor, Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, Halsey, Wiz Khalifa, Kylie Jenner, and Joe Jonas would be the next generation of stars who were younger children during Britney’s prime years. I was watching her 2016 BBMAs performance, and whenever the camera went to a famous person in the audience, I wondered out of curiosity what he/she’s thoughts/perception/reaction watching it. I wondered how do they view Britney, depending on their age. For example, I imagine Mila’s take would be different from Meghan’s, who was in grade school when Britney was in her prime and idolized her growing up. I mean, there’s no real answers to these hypothetical questions, and we can only go by a few seconds of facial expressions which we could be wrong about. For instance, was it me or did Jessica Alba seem bored? Wiz Khalifa was weird popping up like that. Mila Kunis looked like she was excited. Demi and Nick’s faces were hard to read. I’m just saying in a long-winded way I wonder what’s the current view of Britney from her fellow industry peoples. Wonder what was it like for them seeing that fierce intro reel of Britney’s career? (Bear with me I’m a little high lol) Edit: 1:36 is Zendaya, as pointed out by @MrLovett

First off, I gotta say once again - HOW ******* AMAZING ISN'T THE SLUMBER PARTY VIDEO?! Still cant get it. Did anyone else get a flashback when she wears the outfit with a ballerina- skirt in the video to 2006, when she wore a very similar one to the afterparties for the AMAs that year when she presented an award? Just something that hit me, november 10 years later.
