I wish she would make a personal album. She would probably be critically acclaim. I would pick a more personal album version over just *** Glory any day. That's just not Britney. Everytime is one of m

Well, music today is very political, just like Beyonce. Being Britney who always sing about ***.. it won't do any good for her charisma approach.. She's not young anymore like Taylor, so there goes he

bye new york times,   i'm having fun with glory now   thanks god for britney doesn't need a script for sell her albums

HISTORY LESSON: NY Times lied to help us get into the Iraq war...why should I care what these crusty hoez say, exactly?

For real, tho. This is a pretty standard "Britney is a blowup doll" kind of review that she got HAMMERED with during In The Zone and afterwards...hilarious that the review harkens back favorably to her 2000s work as if Britney wasn't always criticized for 'sticking with ****' while being compared negatively with her peers. And being 2016, OF COURSE the supposed politics (or lack thereof) of the album take precedence over the actual music in this review. The music doesn't seem to be the issue with this reviewer (they call it 'sleek', 'often catchy' and proclaim Britney's voice to be more 'involved' and 'present' - all positives for what is essentially an 'F' review)...it's that Britney dares to be ****** and (horror of all horrors) not up to date with the latest rules in Female Empowerment™ as dictated self-styled cultural guardians in New York. How dare she sing about wanting a man to not be 'too polite' with her? Doesn't she know it's 2016?

Britney likes ***, Britney likes dudes...real female empowerment means you let women talk/sing/etc. about whatever they want...even if it happens to be *** with dudes...or being 'desperate'. It's OK to sings about these things. It's OK to release an album that 'one dimensionally' deals matters of love and sensuality. Britney doesn't need to mine her past trauma YET AGAIN in 2016 just so she can serve up some sort of trendy empowerment anthem that writers at NYT can feel good about listening too ("Thank GOD it's not ****! #CriticsSTILLProjectTheirIssuesOntoBritneyMusic2016").

The last thing 2016 is more 'message' entertainment. Besides, most Britney fans just want something they can suck **** to :truthtea:

In the past, she's sung about the dark side of fame, paparazzi, the breakup with Kevin, apologised to Justin... They were relevant AT the time.

Her music today isn't going to be. defined by what she's been through. This article is a reflection of how the writer defines her - and if he doesn't see that in her music - maybe that's because Britney has moved on.

Brit is single and looking.. She's in the best shape she's been in since her teens and she is happier and more confident than she's been in YEARS. Britney isn't good at wearing the mask- at faking it. Perhaps the writer is missing the point then - this is the most personal album she could have made at this point in her life.
