Eminem Compares Himself To The Manchester Arena Bomber On New Album

January 17, 2020 By Jordan Miller

Controversy is the name of Em’s game.

Eminem surprise-released a new album today (Jan. 17) titled Music to Be Murdered By. On one of the songs, “Unaccommodating,” Eminem insensitively raps about the Manchester Arena bomber, and it’s got people up in arms.

“But I’m contemplating yelling ‘bombs away’ on the game / Like I’m outside of an Ariana Grande concert waiting,” he spits.

It’s actually the second recent instance of Em shining a light on the bomber. In 2018, he rapped about him in a freestyle:

Squashed in between a brainwashing machine
Like an Islamic regime, a jihadist extreme radical
Suicide bomber that’s seeing
Ariana Grande sing her last song of the evening
And as the audience from the damn concert is leaving
Detonates the device strapped to his abdominal region
I’m not gonna finish that, for obvious reasons

Elsewhere in “Unaccommodating,” Em compares himself to Saddam Hussein and Ayatollah Khomeini, and referencing the 9/11 attacks.

“And you backpedal that as a cowardly act / Like a Saudi attack when the towers collapse.”

On the album, there are also references to JonBenet Ramsay and serial killers Richard Ramirez (known as the Night Stalker), Albert DeSalvo (known as the Boston Strangler), and Charles Manson.

Are we surprised?
