Ed Sheeran Deleting His Twitter Had Nothing To Do With Horrendous Game Of Thrones Cameo

July 20, 2017 By Jordan Miller

Remains unbothered.

If you thought Twitter finally had its way with Ed Sheeran, you’re wrong.

The pop star deleted his Twitter profile not long after he threatened to quit it entirely (Lady Gaga fans came for him. You can read more about that here). Once he re-activated it, all of the Tweets after April 2015 had been scrubbed. The Internet assumed the backlash he faced after his cameo on Game of Thrones was to blame, but, as the Internet usually is, was wrong.

“Last i’ll say on this. I came off Twitter Coz I was always intending to come off Twitter, had nothing to do with what people said about my game of thrones cameo, because I am in game of thrones, why the hell would I worry what people thought about that,” Sheeran wrote on Instagram. “It’s clearly ******’ awesome. Timing was just a coincidence, but believe what you want. Here is an unrelated picture of me and my wonderful manager riding off into the sunset together”

The timing is rather suspect. Whatever you say, Ed!
