Dua Lipa is no one-trick pony.

The British singer has built anticipation for her debut album by releasing a number of electro-pop singles, like “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)” and “Hotter Than Hell”, but she showcases a different side of herself on “Thinking ‘Bout You.”

Starting with a guitar and finger snaps, the 21-year-old’s soulful voice dominates as the acoustic ballad flourishes into a sultry R&B-influenced slow jam.

“This time Mary Jane won’t save me / I’ve been working later, I’ve been drinking stronger / I’ve been smoking deeper but the memories won’t stop.”

Dua’s performance on “Thinking ‘Bout You” is reminiscent of early P!nk – both lyrically and vocally – while the influence of Nelly Furtado can most definitely be heard, and it’s all the better for it.

“Blow Your Mind (Mwah)” was one of my favourite songs released last year but hearing this side of the singer has me even more excited for her album as it is clear that Dua Lipa can do it all.

“Dua Lipa” – the debut album – will be released February 10.
