Trump says, “I hope to run against him someday.”
That headline was difficult to write.
We live in an age where campaigning to become one of the most powerful people on the planet has become a mockery. Thank you Donald Trump for your efforts towards contributing to the destruction of good ol’ Amurica. His blatant racism, shuddering stance towards the degradation of women and closed-minded political outlook strengthens today when he said in a new interview with Rolling Stone he looks forward to running against Kanye West for President in 2020.
West jokingly(?) announced the decision at the tail-end of his Video Vanguard Award acceptance speech at the MTV VMA’s on Sunday (Aug. 30). His 12-minute speech, which included jabs at MTV for continually promoting his 2009 beef with Taylor Swift for “ratings” and his take on award shows in general, was so polarizing MTV is considering asking him to host next year’s show. But perhaps West will be too busy planning his strategy against Trump for 2020 – regardless, the Donald is ready.
“He’s said very nice things about me in the past… extremely positive things,” Trump told Rolling Stone, adding that he doesn’t “quite get” the comparisons between the two of them.
Trump believes he inspired West. “I was actually watching, I saw him [announce his candidacy on the VMAs], and I said, ‘That’s very interesting. I wonder who gave him that idea?'”
“He’s actually a different kind of person than people think. He’s a nice guy,” Trump continued.
“I hope to run against him someday.”
