Emotion: Carly Rae Jepsen And Jack Antonoff Reunite In The Recording Studio

Music magic.

Carly Rae Jepsen taps Jack Antonoff for new tunes.

UPDATE // JULY 2, 2018:

It’s been a minute since we’ve written about Carly Rae Jepsen, but over the weekend the “Run Away With Me” singer shared a little update. She and Jack Antonoff hit the studio together.

@jackantonoff and I having absolutely no fun in the studio tonight,” Jepsen wrote.

This is music to our ears! CRJ and Jack worked together on 2015’s EMOTION, but his work was cut. Justice for Jack!

Check out the new snap below:

EARLIER // DECEMBER 13, 2017:

Carly Rae Jepsen is coming!

And we won’t have to wait that much longer! The “Cut To The Feeling” singer revealed back in September that her forthcoming record will finally arrive in 2018, but was “hesitant” to say a date because she’s simply not sure.

“I have a baby plan for [the album],” she said at the time. “It would be great to get it here as soon as possible, but it’s also more important to get it right. I’m in the cleaning up phases right now. Just making sure it’s all polished.”

We don’t know much about the record, but it’s got a ’70s disco vibe. The pop star shared a look on Instagram.

Carly is working with some major game changers, too, including Patrick Berger (produced behind Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own”), Noonie Bao, Patrik Berger (Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap”), Miike Snow’s Pontus Winnberg, as one-half of Bloodshy & Avant, Jack Antonoff, The Knocks and Charli XCX.

Earlier this year, the pop star sat down for an interview with SOCAN and confirmed she already created 50 potential tracks for the record(!!!).

“I’m nervous and excited all at the same time. It’s strange to experiment in the way that I am right now, and kind of going to new places,” Jepsen said. “And try to take the positivity from the last round of what we experienced in general and kind of put it over there for a second and be brave to try out new things. I think as a creator you’re never wanting to just repeat what you’ve done before.”

Looking snatched! Give us these bops, Car. STAT!
