Lovato also zeros in on Swift’s squad’s bodies.

Demi Lovato calls out Taylor Swift and her “Bad Blood” music video for attacking Katy Perry and promoting body image ideals.

Demi Lovato hasn’t made headlines in a minute, so she decided to sink her teeth into one of the most polarizing pop stars on the planet to ensure she does.

She doesn’t explicitly say Swift’s name or the video title, but reading between the lines it’s safe to say Lovato was referring to Swift during her new interview with Glamour.

“I think having a song and video about tearing Katy Perry down, that’s not women’s empowerment,” Lovato said. “We all do things that aren’t, but I have to ask myself, Am I content with calling myself a feminist? Yes, because I speak out.”

For the record, Perry said she’d squash her beef with Swift and even collaborate if she received an apology.

Lovato also took issue with the women in the video, because according to her none of them have a “normal body.”

“To be honest, and this will probably get me in trouble,” Lovato said. “I don’t see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal body. It’s kind of this false image of what people should look like. And what they should be like, and it’s not real.” Some of the women in the video include super models likes Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss, as well as actresses like Mariska Hargitay, Lena Dunham, and Jessica Alba.

In the past, Lovato called out Swift for painting herself as a feminist without actually doing the legwork, particularly the time when the 1989 singer donated thousands of dollars to Kesha to help with legal fees in her fight against Dr. Luke. “Talking about it at all is doing all the work. And I think every woman does her part in some way. But I think in certain situations, certain people could be doing more if they’re going to claim that as part of their brand.”

Naturally, Twitter blew the Confident singer’s timeline up, which prompted a feisty response from the pop star.

Who is Demi Lovato to judge what a “normal” body is? Who is Demi Lovato to deem whether another woman is a feminist or not. Who is Demi Lovato to brush off reaction with a set of Tweets? As Taylor Swift might say… who is Demi Lovato?
