David Guetta and Sia’s fourth collaboration together, “Flames,” is a genre-bending banger.

Guetta’s mystic production powers with Sia’s untouchable songwriting skills is a recipe for pop perfection. Their new song together, “Flames,” walks a fine line between funk wav a la Calvin Harris and EDM-lite.

Guetta spoke with The Independent about the track’s creation process and working with Sia.

“I’m a huge Sia fan and we have a good history together,” he said. “Something crazy happened when we started working together – our first collaboration ‘Titanium’ turned everything upside-down for both of us. She was a super cool indie artist who wasn’t really into pop and then when we came up with ‘Titanium,’ I just loved the track so much that I said ‘I don’t want to give this to anybody else, no one else will sing it like you’. She said ‘OK but it’s going to be my last record and I’m not doing tours, promo or anything…’

“And then it turned out that this was the record that was going to change both our lives. Now she is a superstar and I couldn’t be more happy for her. She deserves every success that she gets and I’m so excited to be collaborating with her again on “Flames”. She’s very loyal since she’s always up for working together, even though she’s super big now, which I really appreciate. I’m really proud of “Flames” and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”

UPDATE // APRIL 5: A video for the track has arrived! In it, Sia is the ultimate ninja. She’s so stealthy it’s actually extremely hard to spot her (she’s not in it). Give it a play below:
