D∆WN Drops Fashion Forward Video For ‘Redemption’ Song “Wake Up”
Dream away with Dawn Richard on her latest breathy R&B cut.
“Don’t wake me up.”
Dawn Richard A.K.A. D∆WN is at the top of her game.
Last month, D∆WN premiered the Infrared EP with producer Kingdom which featured a handful of new songs. Most recently, she premiered a red hot track for Adult Swim’s Singles Series titled “Serpentine Fire,” but now the ex girl-bander zones back in on her solo project, Redemption, the third and final release from her trilogy of EPs.
On Friday (June 10), Richard dropped the music video for “Wake Up” – a transformative breathy R&B cut that splices and dices her angelic vocals with a ferocious trap beat and bass for days. The video is a stunning affair of intricate costumes and smoldering stares from D∆WN.
“Wake Up” is “a story of an altered reality where the dream feels like real life,” Richard told PaperMag. “The wish that a dreamer’s world could be the reality.”
