David adds a chill vibe and a rap verse to the latest “Love Yourself” cover.

Craig David transformed Bieber’s acoustic Purpose track to a bopper.

“Love Yourself” is a breakout track from Bieber’s recent No. 1 album and is receiving a lot of attention from the general public. It already topped the charts in the UK for several consecutive weeks and is seeing radio play in the U.S. without any real push from the Biebs. Alessia Cara was one of the first artists to tackle a cover of it, which remained true to form, but David added a whole new spin to it.

During his appearance on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, David performed his new song ‘When The Bassline Drops’ along with the cover (that includes a fresh rap). Listen here:

This isn’t the first time David and Bieber’s worlds collide. Bieber sampled David’s “Fill Me In” on a song titled “Recovery” off 2013’s Journals. Then last September, David remixed “Fill Me In” with the instrumental from Bieber’s “Where Are Ü Now.”
