An unlikely duo, but it works.

Jennifer Lopez tries her hand at country music.

Nettles, who is a one-half of the duo Sugarland alongside Kristian Bush, is readying a new solo album titled Playing With Fire out May 13. One of those songs unexpectedly features Jennifer Lopez.

It’s a bit surprising to hear JLo on a country song, but after Justin Timberlake received critical acclaim for his country cut “Drink You Away,” then Beyonce on “Daddy Lessons,” it’s becoming less taboo. Cue Lopez, who contributes vocals on the rural-urban odd-couple numbers titled “My House.”

“I’m Jenny from the dirt road,” Nettles sings before JLo chimes in, “I’m Jenny from the block.”

Nettles overpowers JLo with the high notes, but Lopez holds her own, singing in both English and Spanish.
