The Wall Street Journal has confirmed that Coldplay will be the Super Bowl Halftime performer next year.

Amid rumors that Britney Spears or Bruno Mars would headline the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show, the reputable Wall Street Journal have thrown a spanner in the works by confirming that Coldplay will play the 2016 event.

Coldplay are a good choice, their final album is set to drop imminently and they’re one of the world’s biggest rock bands. We can’t help but be a little disappointed given the plethora of pop stars tied to the event, but we look forward to Coldplay’s set.

Stay tuned for official confirmation from the NFL.
