In fact, she said it was “SO boring and SO fake.”
Whether they want to admit it to us or not, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez definitely have beef, and it just got slightly worse.
During an interview on Australia’s Kyle & Jackie O show for KIIS FM, Mariah reflected on her time as a judge on the show alongside Nicki Minaj, claiming it was the “worst experience of my life.”
“It’s so boring and so fake,” Mimi said. “I’m sorry … when I say it’s fake, I mean … you have to make up things to say about people. Half the time, the performances are good, you just [want to] be like, ‘It was good.’ You just feel like ending it there, like, ‘It’s really good.’ “
As you know, Jennifer Lopez currently acts as one of the shows judges and will finish her duties on the final season beginning next year.
Mariah also feels the AI producers stirred the pot with her and Nicki Minaj in an attempt to score ratings.
“I’m not gonna get into what it was, but let’s just say I don’t think they had any intentions for us to have a good experience doing that show … pinning two females against each other wasn’t cool,” she explains. It should’ve been about the contestants instead of being about some non-existent feud that turned into more ridiculousness and I would never want to be involved with it again. But everybody else can like it!”
Listen to her interview here (she also confirms the re-release of her Christmas album):
Last summer, Andy Cohen asked J Lo about the feud during appearance on the show, but she kept it PC..
“I don’t have a feud against her at all. I know from back in the day, I’ve read things that she’s said about me that were not the greatest, but we have never met. Like, we don’t know each other. I think it’s kind of from word of mouth of things that have happened in the past that I’m not really aware of. But I don’t know. I would love to meet her and I would love to be friends with her,” Lopez said of her pop peer. “I think she’s incredibly talented and I’ve always been a fan of hers. ‘My All’ is one of my favorite songs of all time. I just love her. It saddens me to hear anything that’s negative because I’m a fan of hers.”
We understand Mariah wasn’t aiming that at JLo, but we can’t help but notice the irony of her mentioning females getting pit up against each other, than say something she knows will cause a ruckus. Las Vegas is a small city, ladies! JLo, your turn?
