CL performed her edgy new track “Lifted,” which boasts a sample of “Method Man” by the Wu-Tang Clan, on The Late Late Show With James Corden Thursday night. The track features production from South Korean-born American rapper and producer Teddy Park, who crafted the K-Pop queen’s “2NE1,” and “Big Bang,” and is responsible for the steady-paced thumps in “Lifted.”

The tune marks CL’s English-language debut, so while she’s hoping to bombard the states with her unique sound, “Lifted” might just keep her grounded. It’s a solid release, but those unfamiliar with CL might want the the bells and whistles which “Lifted” lacks. Her slick new performance of the song could do the trick though. James Corden seems to think so. Watch:
