UPDATE: After the footage leaked, TMZ reported that the Whitney estate saw the finished product two days ago and decided to pull the plug since the hologram simply “didn’t look like” her. “Producers and the estate reps all agreed Christina was flawless, but until technology can do the same for Whitney … no deal,” the report continued.

Christina Aguilera and the Whitney Houston hologram perform “I Have Nothing” and “I’m Every Woman” together for The Voice finale.

Rumor had it Aguilera was planning a tribute for Whitney Houston during this season’s finale, but things escalated quickly when ET confirmed Aguilera prepared a surprise performance for this year’s finale that will feature a duet with a Whitney Houston hologram.

Footage of their performance together surfaced online ahead of schedule… and it’s everything.

Aguilera begins singing a stunning studio-version of Houston’s “I Have Nothing” before introducing the Whitney Houston hologram. The pair sing to each other across the stage, but eventually unite side-by-side for a roaring rendition of her 1992 cover of Chaka Khan’s “I’m Every Woman.”

“I am sworn to secrecy,” Aguilera said several weeks ago when asked about the performance. “I can’t say anything, but I’m very excited about the finale. Very exciting things happening.”
