Chris Brown to Donate Proceeds From ‘Royalty’ to CharityNovember 30, 2015
A kind gesture or crude business tactic?
Chris Brown continues attempts to reform his image.
Taking to Instagram this weekend, Chris Brown has stated that between now and Christmas, when you pre-order or buy his forthcoming LP ‘Royalty,’ $1 of the royalties from each album sale will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network hospital.
“The holidays are all about giving back, so this Christmas, from now until Christmas, if you order the album, pre-order the album, one dollar of every album sold will go to Children’s Miracle Network hospital. So please do your part. Give back!”
The record is named after his daughter, so the link to children’s charitable efforts makes a certain amount of sense, and it’s a canny move from a business perspective as it should ensure better first week sales than Brown could otherwise expect. Of course, there are sure to be cynics who find his efforts a little hollow or self-serving but there’s no denying the good that the initiative will do and perhaps that’s the best aspect of this to focus on.
‘Royalty’ drops December 18th and you can pre-order the album now on iTunes.
