Charlie Puth returns with a brooding new tune.
When love turns toxic, it can still captivate. Charlie sings about that on his new release, “I Warned Myself,” the first new song of three.
“I warned myself that I shouldn’t play with fire,” he croons over an ominous beat, “but I can tell that I’ll do it one more time.”
The Brendan Vaughan-directed video reflects the moody tone. In it, Charlie cruises through the desert in (and on) a Lamborghini and isolates himself from a formation of scantily clad women.
“I Warned Myself” is the first solo release from Puth since 2018’s Voicenotes.
