Charli XCX’s New Album Could “Change The Sound Of Pop”February 2, 2016
Charli XCX’s third album is shaping up to be huge – and she knows it.
The “Doing It” singer has been working on the follow-up to 2014’s “SUCKER” for over a year, beginning shortly after its release, stating she was already “over” the material by the time it was released.
Thankfully, she sounds a lot more optimistic about the new album, telling i-D magazine “This album could change the sound of pop music. It’s the album I’ve been trying to make forever. And now I’ve done it.”
She previously told the magazine the new material was “the most pop [..] and the most electronic” she had produced yet and it seems that statement still holds true as she has collaborated with SOPHIE, BloodPop and Stargate for the bulk of the songs.
SOPHIE produced the brilliant “Vroom Vroom” that was debuted on Beats 1 Radio last year. “There are some high-octane plastic moments and then more piano ballad situations,” Charli went on to say.
Charli is currently putting the finishing touches to the album in LA so we’re going to hear the game-changing music very soon! Get excited.
