Dion was honored with the Icon Award by her son René-Charles which became easily the most touching moment of the evening.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after Céline Dion cried on stage after her son René-Charles surprised her on stage with the Icon Award.

Dion gave a powerful performance of “Show Must Go On” featuring Lindsey Stirling at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday.

“René, this one’s for you,” she said as tears streamed down her face. “The show must go on.”

During her speech, Dion apologized for crying in front of her son, but the moment was heavy. “Music has been my passion since almost I can remember,” she said. “So many people helped me get where I am today … most especially I want to thank the fans for traveling through music with me in good and bad times.”
