Carrie Underwood Premieres “Smoke Break”August 20, 2015
I don’t smoke, but sometimes I need a long drag.
Yeah I know it might sound bad. Sometimes I need a smoke break.
Carrie Underwood returns to the country music scene with her anthemic tune about taking a moment. The song is an upbeat and high energy tune that’s definitely going to light up the charts this fall and possibly outshine her iconic “Before He Cheats.”
Underwood tells E! News, “The song itself is just kind of one of those story songs that I feel like everybody can relate to, about how life is so hectic and it’s so nice when, if and when, you actually get to kind of step away for a second. And we all need that, we all need that time to ourselves to get to take a break.”
Underwood co-wrote the track with Hillary Lindsey and Chris DeStefano and production by Jay Joyce.
“I don’t drink, but sometimes I need a stiff drink. Sippin’ from a high ball glass. Let the world fade away. I don’t smoke, but sometimes I need a long drag. Yeah I know it might sound bad. Sometimes I need a smoke break.”
Definitely one of our favorite tunes this week. Give it a listen:
