We don’t deserve Carly Rae Jepsen.

We don’t deserve Carly Rae Jepsen.

I’m feeling E•MO•TIONal. Jepsen’s new-ish Sir Nolan-produced song “Cut To The Feeling” is glorious. It lands on the soundtrack for the upcoming animated film Leap!, which was originally released internationally late last year as Ballerina. Jepsen voices one of the characters.

“I wanna cut through the clouds, break the ceiling,” Carly croons over building synths. Then her vocals elevate to new heights. “I wanna dance on the roof, you and me alone / I wanna cut to the feeling, oh yeah.” The entire effort is one big dance party.

The track, which was originally meant to land on the E•MO•TION: Side B collection, has a shiny new lyric video to soundtrack the song. Spin even named it the best song of 2017 thus far.
