I’m not the type of girl for you, I’m not going to pretend.

Carly Rae Jepsen Shares "Your Type"

I’m not the type of girl you call more than a friend.

Carly Rae Jepsen acts so perfectly in her latest E•MO•TION release with “Your Type.” This marks Jepsen’s seventh song she’s shared off the album – which saw a release in Japan weeks ago – but each tune she releases gives fans a tiny insight how Jepsen wants to promote her latest studio record. “Your Type” features the classic ’80s funk and pulsating synth clap that’s heard throughout many E•MO•TION songs, and is one of only a handful of records after Taylor Swift’s 1989 to successfully update and outdated sound. In the track, Jepsen sings about falling in love for someone whose heart is somewhere else.

I’m not the type of girl for you
And I’m not going to pretend
That I’m the type of girl you call more than a friend

“Your Type” follows “I Really Like You,” the album title track, “Run Away With Me”, “Warm Blood”, “Making The Most Of The Night” (written by Sia) and “All That.”
