Trying something new.
Carly Rae Jepsen’s highly anticipated followup to 2015’s E•MO•TION is shaping up to be epic.
The pop star sat down for an interview earlier with SOCAN earlier this summer – the video is just now making the rounds – and in it she touches on creating “Cut To The Feeling,” writing more than 200 songs for E•MO•TION, creating ~constant ear candy~ and her next LP.
The “Gimme Love” singer confirmed she’s already created 50 potential tracks for the record, but it won’t be a carbon copy of her last pop opus.
“I’m nervous and excited all at the same time. It’s strange to experiment in the way that I am right now, and kind of going to new places,” Jepsen said. “And try to take the positivity from the last round of what we experienced in general and kind of put it over there for a second and be brave to try out new things. I think as a creator you’re never wanting to just repeat what you’ve done before.”
Pop music 2017 needs you, Carly!
