“I forgot the feeling. The feeling of being alone but not lonely.”
Camila Cabello is in full-on pop star mode.
It hasn’t been easy for Camila since leaving Fifth Harmony. She reveals in her cover story with Billboard that the girls haven’t spoken to her since her departure, but she had no choice. In a new interview with Seventeen magazine, the 19-year-old explained the 5H wasn’t “the maximum expression of me individually,” adding: “my fans are really going to know me from the music I’m writing. My goal is to be brave and open up my soul.”
Case in point: her new collaboration with producer Cashmere Cat on “Love Incredible.” It’s another slinky mid-tempo boasting breathy vocals and a radio-friendly chorus. The track takes a turn for the bizarre when the outro hijacks her angelic vocals for an eerie, synthesized robotic howling.
“I forgot the feeling / The feeling of being alone but not lonely,” she sings over CC’s production gymnastics. “I guess when you touch me / My fears and my secrets belong to you only.”
Camila’s debut studio album is expected to drop this fall.
