Haters accuse Camila Cabello of racism.

In recent years, Camila Cabello has publicly supported the Black Lives Matter movement and condemned fans who flung racist and derogatory comments at her former Fifth Harmony bandmate, Normani. However, stan Twitter is amplifying a hateful storyline. Unearthed posts on Tumblr made by a then-15-year-old Camila are making the rounds. It’s worth mentioning Camila has released a statement regarding the controversy, which you may read at the bottom of the post.

The Tumblr in question, created by a user named vous-etess-belle, was removed less than a day ago.

A user on Twitter created a Tweet thread with screen shots that show Camila casually using the N-word repeatedly through the lens of comedy. The memes energize stereotypes and also takes jabs at famous musicians like Rihanna. You can see the list of Tweets below.

“I stand by the words ‘love only’, meaning I won’t tolerate on my timeline any kind of hate, racism, or discrimination towards ANYONE. Period,” Camila wrote in 2016 following Normani’s harrowing online experience of online racism.

Camila admits she is responsible for the posts.

“When I was younger I used language that I’m deeply ashamed of and will regret forever,” she said. “I was uneducated and ignorant and once I became aware of the history and the weight and the true meaning behind this horrible and hurtful language, I was deeply embarrassed I ever used it.”

“I’m 22 now,” she added. “I’m an adult and I’ve grown and learned and am conscious and aware of the history and the pain it carries in a way I wasn’t before.”

  1. I’m sure a young Camila would also be totally against “dating” gay dudes for fame but sometimes people change. Especially from when they’re a baby to when they’re an adult. I mean, I used to think you needed to be in a serious relationship to have *** and now I’m on PrEP. See. People change.

  2. 1) I can’t believe she never deleted that Tumblr. Once you’re famous, you have to walk and brush your steps.
    2) SHE WAS 15 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME. I’ve done and said horrible things at that age and younger…and even older. If you can’t forgive a 15 year-old, then you shouldn’t be preaching about love and acceptance.
    3) Her apology was nice to read but at the same time too lenghty, just say sorry and that’s it. You don’t have to shame yourself in public for something you did half-consciously when you were younger and stupid. It’s already done, cannot be changed, and all these years she’s proven to be respectful and caring. NEXT!

  3. Soo weird. When I was writing this, I went to find a picture of her so I went to her Twitter and WAM, she posted a statement. Had to change the entire thing from ~allegedly~ to ~yea, she definitely wrote this racist ****~

  4. I knew better at 15, but I feel so different from the person I was at 15, so it’s easy for me to believe she could have changed. I’m really not a fan of cancel culture because everyone makes mistakes. I think Camila’s actions as an adult, showing she’s not that ignorant, speaks louder than a child making an ignorant mistake.

  5. Her fans will say this is the reason for the second week sales tanking.

Those screen shots where she called Normani the N-word are starting to look real to me now…

  6. Not a fan of the ”cancel” culture or whatever . but those posts are questionable. and the fact that they still exist? what is wrong with her ”team” . being famous nowadays is all about being 100% politically correct , minding language and avoiding any sort of offensive language or mannerism to ANY group. so glad that Britney only posts yoga poses and what she likes. smart woman.

  7. Give her a break, she just had a flop record. 😪 And yeah maybe at 15, she knew exactly what the N word stands for but it doesn’t mean she’s not ignorant still. Afterall she’s still just a 15 year old. Maybe she hasn’t like totally grasped the entire history and weight of it all cause when you’re young and stupid, it’s just a “bad word” that you’re not allowed to say cause it’s offensive. People grow. People change. When I was a teen I knew dating married guys and older men were bad and immoral but i’m practically a daddy magnet now so… stream ‘My Oh My’ by Camila Cabello and DaBaby. 😬

  8. This whole situation is so strange. I don’t know a whole lot about Camilla, but did she grow up in a poor community? I’ve known poor white people who weren’t necessarily racist, but used the n-word. I mean, I guess it’s racist no matter what, but they don’t hate poc’s, they’re just ignorant, uneducated, and don’t realize how bad saying that word really is.

At least she’s apologized. I feel bad for her, it seems like the everyone has turned on her so quickly over the last few months.
