It’s Been A While… Britney’s “Break The Ice” Music Video Released 10-Years Ago Today

Britney Spears’ “Break The Ice” music video has blessed our lives for exactly 10 years.

Britney Spears’ “Break The Ice” music video has blessed our lives for exactly 10 years.

“Break The Ice” is one of Britney’s best songs of her entire career (FIGHT ME). The music video? Well… At the time it was released, the pop star’s personal life eclipsed her career, and getting her to commit to filming a video in person was not in the cards, yet… there was an album to promote.

To keep the Blackout ball rolling, Jive Records (RIP) enlisted the talents of director Robert Hales. He dreamed up a futuristic, femme fatale-inspired clip that found an anime Britney slipping back into her deadly “Toxic” persona to embark on a life saving mission.

See what Exhale is saying about this.

It’s actually a pretty iconic clip and did the job to get a visual out. Today, it turns 10-years-old (it was released March 12, 2008). It’s a milestone in its own right, but also a reminder that iconic songs will always remain timeless.
