Will she have the last laugh?
2019 has been a wild ride for Britney Spears. After she abruptly cancelled **********, the pop star was admitted into a mental health facility and remained sight unseen for months on-end. When she was finally spotted, it was due to immense pressure from people demanding to know if the rumors that she was being held there against her will and being force-fed medication were true. To save face, Britney was conveniently photographed by paparazzi (“NOTHING TO SEE HERE, FOLKS!),” but it cast an eerie shadow on her state of affairs.
Things changed after that. Her relationship with manager Larry Rudolph is fractured, her parents are seemingly at odds regarding how to handle their daughter, and Britney was nowhere to be seen on the Spears family’s recent vacation.
One thing Britney made clear to a judge at her most-recent status hearing regarding the legal restraints she’s under is that she wants out. That makes her latest Instagram post very interesting (it’s worth mentioning Britney wants people to know she is the one posting content, not her team).
The Glory singer shared an old photo of a woman chilling on the beach with the words, “I’ve put myself in timeout until I can play nice with others. This may take a while.”
But it was Britney’s own caption that caused a ruckus.
“A while ?? How bout a decade !!!!!”
Britney’s conservatorship has remained in full-effect for just over a decade – fans are under the impression she’s making a direct reference to it and taking a blatant jab. There’s a status hearing next Thursday (August 15th).
Earlier this year, a judge requested a full evaluation on Britney and her conservatorship, including reviews of those involved.
In the time since Britney’s mental health facility stay, she’s been spotted vacationing with her mom in Turks and Caicos, enjoying fun in the sun in Miami with boyfriend Sam Asghari, walking the red carpet at a movie premiere and hitting up Disneyland with her sons.
