Robyn contributed vocals on one of ‘Blackout’s’ most iconic songs, and now her solo version is available to stream.

Blackout is one of (if not THE) best Britney Spears albums ever, and it features Swedish pop sensation, Robyn.

The Body Talk singer’s voice can be heard on the background vocals in the finalized version of the song, however the original demo sans Britney has just surfaced, and it’s wonderful.

Britney made it her own – the robotized vocals and dark tone offer a far more ominous take on the track than Robyn probably intended, but the princess of pop didn’t change any of the lyrics heard on the demo Robyn recorded with Christian Karlsson (“Bloodshy” in producer duo, Bloodshy & Avant). B&A also produced it.

It was written by Klas Åhlund. “Piece Of Me” is a response to the media scrutiny Britney faced in the years leading up to its release.

“Klas wrote ‘Piece of Me’ and asked me to demo it,” Robyn said at the time, “and they kept the backing vocals for the final recording.”
