Here’s what Portnow said:

“I think it has to begin with women who have the creativity in their hearts and their souls — who want to be musicians, who want to be engineers, who want to be producers, who want to be part of the industry on an executive level — to step up, because I think they would be welcome,” Portnow told Variety. Up next? The legendary Princess of Pop, Miss Britney Spears. She Tweeted a link to an article posted on Variety that highlighted her business manager, Lou Taylor. Taylor had some choice words for Portnow.

See what Exhale is saying about this.

“I step up and step in everyday! There are countless women who help provide the foundation that this business is built on,” Taylor wrote on Instagram. “Here let me help you Neil and Ken – maybe next year we will have a new Academy president and a new producer. I hear the Academy needs a new accountant since you are in debt – I know a good woman who can “step up” and help get you out of debt and help you pull your head out of your ***.”

Britney backed Taylor up.

“YES!!! That is right @LouMTaylor!!,” she wrote. “You do step up every single day, and so do so many other ladies in the music business!! Thank you for this.”
