Take this with a grain of salt.

Heat magazine, a tabloid, published a new report with quotes from an unidentified source that claims Britney Spears has decided to take a lengthy hiatus from performing. They speculate it could be up to 10 years.

“Britney’s made the decision to take a long break from performing. Of course, it was an extremely tough decision, because she loves being on-stage and adores her fans, but she also knows it’s a necessary step,” the source tells them (quotes via Metro).

They claim it could take up to 10 years for Britney to return to showbiz because, according to this insider, a lawyer Britney is apparently speaking with advised her that’s how long it could take to “regain control.”

Because of the conservatorship, Britney is not legally permitted to hire counsel to help her out of this. When she tried hiring attorney Jon Eardley back in 2009 for help, Jamie Spears filed a restraining order against him. A judge granted it.

The source adds that Britney “wants to take back control of her life” and is determined to “prove she’s capable of looking after herself and living without the conservatorship.”

“Britney made a conscious decision to give up her career while she fights.”

It’s worth mentioning their source claims boyfriend Sam Asghari and mom Lynne are helping Britney in her initiative to be free from the legal restraints.

Earlier this year, Britney’s longtime manager, Larry Rudolph, claimed Britney may never perform again. The following day, paparazzi caught Britney out and about and asked her if she would indeed perform again some day. She responded with a chuckle said “of course.”

Throughout the years, Britney has warned fans not to believe everything they read.

The pop star recently took to Instagram to tell fans to hold tight.

“I hope y’all haven’t forgotten about me!!! I’m taking this transition in my life to focus on what I really want … I’ve been working nonstop, well, since I was 8 years old in the business. Sometimes it’s good to stop and reflect !!!! Miss you all … I really do have the best fans in the world !!!”

  1. So Britney herself thinks that she’ll start performing again when she’s 47? she’ll definitely still be running the game by then but it seems like she likes performing too much. she said in an interview in 2016 that she has at least another 9 albums in her. she’s driven. just wants to do it all on her terms! <3

  2. For me, there was a shift in her career after Circus. We got let down a lot. After that, I was like- this isnt her music and she doesnt want to perform. The conservatorship should have never happened. The britney I got into performed with complete abandon. I wish her out of it.

  3. As much as I love Britney I hope for the life of her this is 💯 percent true. Why? Because maybe, just maybe the people so interested in her affairs will back the f*%# up if they see the cash cow drying up! 🙌🏼 I mean she did post that she’d put herself in timeout for a decade until she can play nice…and her team basically put her in a decade long time out so IMO this would be the perfect Uno Reverse card! 🙌🏼
