Britney Reveals What Musicians Inspires Her

Beyonce, Justin and Bruno Inspire Britney

Britney is a living legend in pop music and still on top after receiving rave reviews for her Piece of Me show, yet through it all remains humble. She credits stars like Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars as inspiration.

She told USA Today backstage before her show on Friday she “looks up to Beyoncé, what she did with her (surprise release) album was genius, really brilliant.” [Sorry, National Enquirer].

As for Miley Cyrus, who attended opening night, Britney says “She’s cool, she’s fun to be around. You know, she’s got really good energy.”

Britney says the fedora bit with the walls for “Me Against The Music” is a nod to the king of pop. It’s my “favorite part of the show, where it’s just me in the spotlight with a hat on, which is really a tribute to Michael.”

She’s also a fan of Lorde, “who is really different and cool … This generation is hungry for new sounds. Bruno Mars is so different and fresh, and (ex-boyfriend) Justin Timberlake is, too. It’s inspiring for me, and it makes people eager to listen to music, which helps everyone.”

Britney recalls the days where buying an album was an experience, whereas now it’s a click away from your iTunes account.

“We’re too smart for our own good,” she says. “We’re at the point where the simplicity of buying a CD and the specialness has gone. I think it’s a shame. The whole process of buying a record was so special.”
