Britney Breaks Her Silence Amid Treatment: “Don’t believe everything you read and hear.”

Britney Spears sets the record straight.

It appears Britney herself has debunked claims made that she is being held against her will at a mental health facility. For the last week, The Britney Army rallied the troops to support an effort in ridding the pop star of her personal and financial conservatorships. The million dollar question is, if she can tour, release albums and give interviews, does she need to the restraints? It’s something we don’t know for sure, however the princess of pop wants you to know one of several things: she’s doing alright, and she’s strong.

Britney shared a video on Instagram and said: “Hi guys. Just checking in with all of you who are concerned about me. All is well. My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately so I just needed time to deal, but don’t worry I’ll be back very soon.”

See what Exhale is saying about this.

There was also a lengthy note posted in the caption. In case you’re wondering what she’s referring to, emails from 2007 have surfaced this week from, we believe, Britney’s former friend/manager turned public enemy, Sam Lutfi. The emails, which Britney says were not from her, alleged that the pop star wanted freedom from those around her, namely her father, Jamie Spears, manager Larry Rudolph, and business manager, Lou Taylor.

In one email that says it’s from “Britney Spears,” sent to a lawyer Gary Stiffelman, the entity calls Taylor “crazy” and a “stalker.”

In a separate email around that same time frame in 2007, the person says they find it funny Rudolph sent Britney to rehab seeing as he was the one giving her alcohol at the time prior to the events that unfolded in 2008.

Britney’s caption on Instagram reads: “I wanted to say hi, because things that are being said have just gotten out of control!!! Wow!!! There’s rumors, death threats to my family and my team, and just so many things crazy things being said,” she said. ‘I am trying to take a moment for myself, but everything that’s happening is just making it harder for me.’

She added: “Don’t believe everything you read and hear. These fake emails everywhere were crafted by Sam Lutfi years ago… I did not write them. He was pretending to be me and communicating with my team with a fake email address.”

Lutfi denies this.

Britney did not mention the claims made by BritneysGram.

Britney continued: “My situation is unique, but I promise I’m doing what’s best at this moment. You may not know this about me, but I am strong, and stand up for what I want! Your love and dedication is amazing, but what I need right now is a little bit of privacy to deal with all the hard things that life is throwing my way. If you could do that, I would be forever grateful. Love you.”
