Pop Music’s New Holy Trinity: Ariana Grande Joins Britney And Mariah In Billboard Hot 100 Club
Ariana Grande’s new song “7 Rings” blasts to No. 1 on the Hot 100 and puts the pop star in good company.
Ariana’s star power has never been greater. Her new song, “7 Rings,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week with 85.3 million streams – twice as many streams as any other song in the same week. It’s also the second-biggest streaming week ever for a song by a female artist (the first was her own with “Thank U, Next”).
This marks Ari’s second No. 1 song on the coveted chart (again, the first being “Thank U, Next”).
Only a handful of artist have managed to have two or more songs debut in the Hot 100. Mariah Carey leads the pack with three, Justin Bieber, Drake, Britney and Ariana have two apiece. Billboard lists many more accomplishments “7 Rings” has achieved.
