Beyonce blocks Prince for the top spot with her new record.
Beyonce new record Lemonade opened up at No. 1 in the U.K. this week.
While the U.S. finalizes its tally, which predicts she’ll move around 600K units opening week, Beyonce is officially a chart topper across the pond with her sixth studio album. Her feat blocked Prince from dominating the Top 5, who follows Beyonce with the second, third and fourth spots with The Very Best Of Prince, 2006’s Ultimate and the Purple Rain soundtrack respectively.
According to the Official Charts, Lemonade sold 73,000 units (10,000 of which are calculated from streaming), making her the second-fastest selling artist record of 2016, behind David Bowie’s Blackstar.
In the states, Beyonce will definitely secure a No. 1 record, but her reign is limited. Drake’s new album Views is expected to move two million units opening week.
