Avril Lavigne readies her next release.

If you thought Avril was done promoting her comeback album, Head Above Water, think again.

Despite debuting with lukewarm sales, Avril’s latest release has more life left in it. The singer announced a contest asking fans to design the cover art for her next single, “I Fell In Love With The Devil.” Best believed I entered it (see my entry below).

I wrote a review on Head Above Water upon its initial release. Like I suspected, it’s grown on me over time.

Originally, I expected an album full of songs like “Tell Me It’s Over,” or something more experimental like on her previous works, but she delivered organic tunes backed by live instrumentation and sincerity. I admire that, and applaud her decision to scrap “Dumb Blonde” for “Devil.” The Nicki Minaj-assisted song doesn’t fit on the album (fight me). “Devil” is a far better representation of the project.
