Austin Mahone Sound Inspired By Britney

Pop singer Austin Mahone is blowing up thanks to his first single, “What About Love,” and taking Britney fans down memory lane when our idol first busted onto the scene with “Baby One More Time.”

Mahone’s already answering questions he’ll probably regret in a few years like Brit did. He admits he hates the taste of alcohol (GOOD, you’re 16!), but reveals he’s a virgin and wants to keep it that way.

“Yeah, I’m a virgin. I think it’s important to wait until you find that special person and not have it be just any random girl. I’m here because of God, and He has a plan for me.”

Not only are there comparisons in his personal life to Britney, but in his professional career as well. Austin’s manager Rocco Valdes says they were having trouble figuring out what his sound should be.

“We were getting tracks in from so many great writers and producers,” including Max Martin, RedOne and Savan Kotecha (One Direction).

“I think Austin’s lane is pop. I want this album to sound like the pop I grew up on—’N Sync, Backstreet Boys, Britney—only updated.”

We’ll forgive him for saying the “only updated” thing, because it’s great to hear Britney’s inspiring pop stars who were in diapers when she released her first single.
