Ariana Grande’s latest release is heading to No. 1.
Ariana Grande’s latest release hits No. 1.
UPDATE // AUGUST 27:
It’s official! Ariana’s new album Sweetener tops the Billboard 200. According to the music giant, the pop star’s sugary effort moved 231,000 equivalent album units (including streaming). Of that sum, 127,000 are from traditional album sales. That’s actually extremely impressive in 2018. It’s also worth mentioning it surpasses Dangerous Woman’s first-week sales at 175,000.
Sweetener most definitely grew on me. “Breathin” and “Successful,” and “Borderline” with Missy Elliott should be come singles just saying.

EARLIER // AUGUST 27:
The pop star dropped her new LP, Sweetener, on Friday. The gays consensus? It’s alright. There’s far too many skippable tracks on it, and only a couple of highlights (“Successful,” “Breathin”).
Despite the lackluster response (Arianators, please don’t drag me I come in peace), Ari is on track to open big.

According to early estimates from Hits Daily Double, Sweetener will open with 200-225k total activity (sales plus streaming). Of that, 110-125k are sales.
It’s also worth mentioning Ari now holds the U.S. Spotify record for the biggest opening day for a female artist ever with 15.1 million streams. Successful!
