Ariana Grande Is Suing Forever 21 For $10 Million

Her receipts be lookin’ like phone numbers.

Ariana Grande is suing Forever 21 for $10 million in damages over their advertisements that appears to rip-off her “7 Rings” video.

In the suit, she alleges the model Forever 21 used looks “strikingly similar” to her – an attempt to persuade shoppers to buy their merchandise as if Ariana gave her stamp of approval. She clearly did not.

The retail giant posted the below ad on Instagram (via the New York Times) – the model is wearing a high pony and hair-piece that looks visually similar to the one Ariana wore in her record-breaking video.

At one point, F21 reached out to Ariana’s team regarding an endorsement, but they could not agree on an amount. Ariana reportedly earns well into the six-figures for a single Instagram advertisement post.

When the deal fell through, F21 ran with the lookalike. Ariana personally saw their ads and contacted her lawyers, the New York Timesreports.

“The resemblance is uncanny and Forever 21’s intent was clear: to suggest to the viewing public that Ms. Grande endorsed Forever 21, its products, and was affiliated with Forever 21,” the lawsuit reads.

Forever 21 removed their posts and want to reach an amicable resolution with the pop titan. “We are hopeful that we will find a mutually agreeable resolution and can continue to work together in the future.”

Adding insult to injury, Bloombergreports Forever 21 may have to potentially file for bankruptcy.

Talent wins.
