Ariana Grande unleashes the next ‘Thank U, Next’ visual.
Ariana bamboozled us! She recently revealed there weren’t any plans to release a new single off her No. 1 album, however the pop star surprise-dropped a new video for “In My Head” anyway. The song touches on her relationship with the late Mac Miller.
In the beginning of the song on the album, Ariana’s friend close friend, Doug Middlebrook, sheds light on Ariana’s complicated relationship with Miller. “You’re in love with a version of a person that you’ve created in your head, that you are trying to but cannot fix…. the only thing you can fix is yourself,” he said. The intro is not featured in the video.
Ari doesn’t get deep in the clip. It’s a series of glamor shots set in a studio. The video coincides with the singer’s new feature in Vogue. There, she opened up about her struggles dealing with Mac’s death.
“It’s pretty all-consuming,” she says of her grief over Miller. “By no means was what we had perfect, but, like, ****. He was the best person ever, and he didn’t deserve the demons he had. I was the glue for such a long time, and I found myself becoming . . . less and less sticky. The pieces just started to float away.”
His memory still haunts her. During a recent show on the Sweetener Tour, Ariana burst into tears. Read more about that here.
