Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings” Is No. 1 For A Fifth Consecutive Week
The Ariana reign won’t let up.
“7 Rings” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with more than 83 million streams (more than double of any other song this week), and gave Ari the second chart topper of her career. It’s remained atop the charts for five consecutive weeks now.
Not satisfied with first place, Grande tossed a remix our way. It features 2 Chainz, one of the culprits claiming Ari’s new song/video ripped off his original work. He called out the singer after the “7 Rings” video premiered drawing a likeness of her dancing in front of a pink house to the pink trap house featured in his video for “Doors Swangin.'”
Soulja Boy also put Ari on blast for copying elements in his song “Pretty Boy Swag.” Ditto for Princess Nokia. She claimed Ari ripped off her flow from 2017 track, “Mine.”
It’s worth mentioning an artist named Vladimir Kush is suing Ariana for copying one of his paintings featured in the “God Is A Woman” music video.
If you can’t beat em… join em! Ari made a money move by releasing a remix with 2 Chainz. Her vocals remain the same as the original – just with an additional verse from the rapper.
UPDATE: Ariana and 2 Chainz have another collaboration on the way. The pop star is featured on the rapper’s forthcoming album, Rap Or Go To The League, out March 1st.
