Brutally honest in front of thousands.

Demi Lovato gets brutally honest with herself, and us, on new song “Sober.”

UPDATE // JUNE 25:

Demi Lovato performed her new song “Sober” for the first time this weekend at Rock in Rio Lisbon on Sunday night (June 24)

“Tonight I took the stage, a new person with a new life,” she wrote on Twitter with a clip of the emotional performance.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. It will never be forgotten.”

I’m not crying are you crying?

EARLIER // JUNE 18:

This is terribly sad news. When I saw Demi Lovato’s Tell Me You Love Me concert in Las Vegas a few months ago, the pop star told the audience she was celebrating her sixth anniversary of sobriety. Unfortunately, that’s changed.

Lovato sings about her inner-conflict on defeat on her new M-Phazes, ROMANS & Tushar Apte-produced track, “Sober.”

“Momma I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore / And Daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor / To the ones who never left me, we’ve been down this road before / I’m so sorry, I’m not sober.”

Lovato also begins apologizing profusely – it’s quite sad. “I’m sorry for the fans I lost, who watched me fall again / I wanna be a role model, but I’m only human.”

I commend Demi for being this open and honest about her life, and doing so through music. You got this girl.
