Adele’s ’25’ Sells 1.1 Million In Second Week

December 6, 2015 By Jordan Miller

Adele is the first person to ever sell a million copes in two separate weeks.

Adele is the first artist to sell a million albums in two separate weeks since Nielsen began tracking in 1991.

The numbers are in: Adele’s 25 sold another 1.11 million in its second week since debuting on Nov. 20, making her total number of pure album sales soar at 4.49 million copies, reports Billboard, and is already on track for another No. 1 this coming week.

She now has the best-selling album since 2011 (replacing her very own 21 record).

Adele also tops the U.K. albums chart this week selling 439,000 copies and is now the fastest million-selling album in U.K. chart history. Her U.K. total comes in at 1.2 million.

The recent success sparked additional dates for her European tour in Manchester, London, Birmingham, Zurich, Amsterdam and Antwerp for her 2016 European tour.
