The “Hello” singer admits she’ll do at least as many shows in the U.S. as last tour (which wasn’t that many).
Who she’s listening to, body image, being a mum and touring the U.S.
These are just some of the questions listeners asked Adele during her appearance on SiriusXM on Monday (Nov. 16).
Who are the new artists that’s caught the current Queen of music’s attention?
“I love CHVRCHΞS a lot,” she says. “I love Grimes a lot. Those are ones that are probably my favorite that are new.”
She also admits trying to listen to music that uplifts her, but says she “doesn’t really connect with it.” She’s always up for enjoying Jeff Buckley tunes, though.
60 Minutes shared a clip of Adele performing “When We Were Young” on Monday, marking the first time audiences heard the song ahead of the album’s release on Friday (Nov. 20). She says in the new interview that song is “based on us being older and being at a party… and seeing everyone you’ve ever fallen out with, anyone that you’ve ever loved, everyone that you’ve never loved… where you can’t find the time to be in each other’s lives and you’re all thrown together at this party when you’re like 50, and it doesn’t matter and you have so much fun and you feel like you’re 15 again.”
On her body image, Adele says “I do have body image problems for sure but I don’t let them ruin my life at all and there’s bigger issues going on in the world than how I might feel about myself and stuff like that…. There’s only one of you, so why would you want to look like everyone else? Why would you want to have the same hair style as everybody else and have the same opinions as everybody else?”
She also reveals the bit about touring the U.S., saying “I will definitely be doing U.S. shows at least as many as I did last time… which wasn’t that many so don’t get too excited [laughs].
For the record, during Adele’s last tour, Adele Live, she performed 16 shows in the U.S.
