Get familiar with Lambert’s new song before he performs it on American Idol.

UPDATE: Lambert shared a behind-the-scenes clip of him creating the song with Laleh:

Adam Lambert promises us a new anthem for the spring.

Lambert is currently on tour promoting his latest album, The Original High, but is offering us a new taste of music with “Welcome To The Show.” Not only will the song debut in full on March 17, he’ll take it to American Idol to perform it that day. It features Swedish vocalist Laleh, co-writer of Demi Lovato’s current single, “Stone Cold” and two tracks off Tori Kelly’s Unbreakable Smile. In it, Lambert sings “Welcome to the show / bring on all the lights / let it shine / we’re together here tonight.”

In a release, Lambert said: “I wanted to surprise my fans with a new, uplifting anthem for the spring,” Adam says. “I asked Max Martin for help and he paired me up with two great writers and producers; Ali Payami, who worked with me on ‘Ghost Town,’ and Swedish star Laleh who is also a featured vocalist on the track. I feel this song will give people strength to be exactly who they are.”
